Question about port forwarding to a virtual machine

    I am going to run a server for personal use (email, web hosting) on a virtual machine on my main computer. I have already forwarded the proper ports on my router to my computer, but how do i then forward the ports through my computer to the virtual machine? I am using parallels for this.

    The easiest thing to do might be to set up the VM to use a bridged adapter, that way your VM ends up with a local IP presumably from DHCP from your router, then you can forward directly to the IP of the VM.

    Ok, thank you! I will try to set this up with virtualbox. Parallels doesnt support it. Also, how do i get a domain? I got a free .tk domain from my.tk. It is a not a sub domain. I have no idea how to hook it up to my server. (I am using OS X Server 10.6
