what to do before starting SEO of a website?

I have a new website for SEO. So please tell me what i do before starting SEO.

Firstly, write good unique and quality content, write ~ 30+ post, but don't just write about any things, try to find keywords relevant to your niche SEO, use AdWord tools to find them, then target those keywords, try to find also authority sites if your niche to get out some ideas. By that, you will find yourself doing on-page SEO which is the 1/2 of the SEO optimization. After that, the off-page SEO will be fairly easy to do. Best luck for you

 

First you have to go through a SEO document provided by Google to know what they expect -

Then you have to optimize your pages as per this guide.

Then apply some changes to your website for on-page optimization. After that you may start with link building.

 

1. At first check your website if there is errors. Fix the error.
2. Your website should be user friendly.
3. Write relevent content and content should be unique
4. Keyword selection is very important. Use different tools(wordtracker,google analytics etc.) for finding best
keyword.
5. Then write good article that is relevant to your keyword.
6. Create sitemap of your website and submit this sitemap to different search engine for index.
7. Do onpage optimization( Keyword research and analysis, Page specific Meta Tag creation, Title Tag, Alt Tag Optimization, Anchor Text Optimization etc.)
8. Do not use duplicate content.
9. DoOff-page SEO(Directory submission, Social Bookmark submission, Blog posting, Article submission, Forum
posting, etc.)
10. SEO is a continuous job. Don't do it quickly better do it slowly. It may take two to six months for better
result.

 

• Do proper keyword research.
• Make Google Analytics account. And add code to your site for monitoring traffic from day 1.

• Make sure your content is unique
• Make user friendly site.
• Your internal link structure should be strong.
• HTML code should be clean so that crawler can crawl the site easily.
• Create and submit google sitemap.
• Create robot.txt file.
• Check your site's loading time and speed.
  
• Check if your site is working in all browsers.
• Make a good 404 page of your site.

Yes all the above is great advice but before you do that sit down and work out what you want your site to achieve. You will need to know where you want to get to before you start the journey.

Before you launch your website to the public, make sure it is completely OK, it should be treated like a movie release...there shouldn't be any error, it should look professional!

 

Definitely do keyword research. Put the best keywords you find into your metadescriptions, permalinks, product descriptions, blog posts, everything. Don't use them so much it seems unnatural though, it's possible to over optimize a site and be punished for it. I know a guy who hired an SEO firm to help him and they filled his site with really spammy keywords and got him like thousands of low quality links and google moved him to the 12th page or something. He woke up one day and his sales were down 80%. Since then he's only recovered to 40% of his original traffic.

seo is different today. onpage and off page will not give u guaranteed that your article will go up on the serp. i have some articles in blogger, that WITHOUT SEO, are in first position for good key. against, i've some articles with seo optimization that are gone down on the serps. why?

1)Pick and seo friendly name for your website.
2)Create a landing page
3)Guest weblog on websites where your niche spends their time.
4)create good content for your site.
5)publish your content.

 

HI ! firstly check all site issues like canonical, Robot.txt, Sitemap. Check HTML and css Validation then search useful keyword for your site using adward and then create Useful Meta like title, Description and Keywords etc. Then after start submission like Social Bookmarking, Directory and Article, Blog [post etc.

 

Concentrate more on new off page techniques like web 2.0, email submissions . Search for some new keywords if any.
Article writing will take time if you are new to this.

 

There are a lot of things you need to look out for:

1. Make sure site's design is professional, attractive, free from error codes, user and SEO friendly.

2. Finalize your targeted keywords using Keyword Tools.

3. Work on On-Page aspects of the site. e.g. URL structure, Page title, meta descriptions, meta keywords, H1 tags.

4. Add content to your pages. Make sure it is unique and engaging.

5. Set Analytics and Webmaster tools to your pages.
