    hello,
    as of my knowledge , and based on all official sites showcase pages.. I never saw an successful sites running who uses these magento / zencart / bigcommerce / etc

    I went through there official sites show case pages. i have visited many sites they have listed , but none of the sites have Atleast leass than 2 lack alexa rank.

    Does any one know any sites running successfully who uses these e-commerce s/w's .

    Most of the big sites I come across are using these platforms. Magento, volusion, big commerce ect. The difference is that the big companies customise their stores quite a lot so you can't even tell what software they are using.

    Please define what you mean about 'successfull sites'.
    Is it about visits, product sales, or earning from ads ?

    Too bad you don't mention wordpress in your post, because I know a lot people succesfully earn from ads using wp..

    Every thing u mentioned are related .

    If u have hits -> u will have sales (i am sure u can not show site have high sales with out hits :p)
    If u have hits -. u will earn on ads if u place ads. (no earns with out hits )

    so i asked the sites having more hits .

    Cool.. & u are in e-commerce Form I am speaking about E-commerce Codes , & you are talking about simple wordpress sites.. I too have wordpress site and i am too earning...

    If you make money with ads, then you need big traffic. On the other hand if you sell products, only with a fraction of that traffic and some good convertion you can make more money.

    A piece of advise - if you are to use Magento, you need to invest some time to get to know it. Or even better, hire someone with enough experience.
