How We Get "likes" ?

I'm really surprised how few likes you get for answering technical questions. It seems much easier to get likes by writing snarky comments. I think the problem is the guys asking the questions are generally not established members, and can't give likes.

 

This is not the fact. Most of the established members even Mod and Staff Members continuously watching all the Threads and Posts from all DP sections and instantly give "Like" to the quality contributions.

 

some people do not give likes to be honest , you help them , you solve their porblem , but they won't bother themselves to give you " Like "

 

Is getting likes the only reason to help people? Sounds a bit mercenary to me.

 

it is one of the ways to show thankfulness im not saying ike whatever post you see , just be generous , there members who are trying to satisfy everyone

 

Poor guy, he's tired and now he's gotten himself banned.

 

Now he'll have some free time to rest up

 

Sorry to go about this, but I now have 3 likes, but still can't seem to launch my logo competition, as it says I need 3 likes.

Please understand, I'm not angling for likes (if I did this would probably be sorted by now) but thought I now have them?

 

They have to be from 3 different members. So if 2 of your likes are from the same member, or a like was a profile like, then you would still be considered "unestablished".

No, it should have no bearing. Has your 3rd like just been given to you today?

 

All likes are over 3 weeks old. I'll hang about and wait until I get like number 4 in case there is an issue with one, then if it still doesn't work will pick your brains again. The message that I'm getting is that I don't have 3 but my profile says otherwise

 

i had 3 likes, but for the dp crash now still 2. with 2 i can't post in many others section, like a rabbit. thank you indians.

 

Some other tips would be:
Don't spam or make posts of just links
Be kind to people, it may be obvious to you but not to them
Don't swear
Don't put up useless information, crowding topics

 

It's pretty hard to get liked. I don't think many of the older members know about this rule and even if they read something helpful they don't bother to 'like' it. That's why we see so many members with hundreds of posts and less than 10 likes.

@Spoiltdiva I see you got 500+ likes so you must be doing something right. Care to share your 'secret'??

 

As usual, Writing to get 'likes' basically will give you nothing. Older and respected member in DP will only give 'likes' to anyone whom writing good and original post. I see lots of new member only copy content from another sites and bring it in this place with a hope just to get likes. Such attitude would not bring any 'likes'.
Whenever replying or creating post, make sure to spend few minutes reading the whole thread and write original post based on our own opinion.
Getting 'likes' is not that hard, what really difficult is "Being respected member". To be 'respected member' we just need to learn about the forum, being helpful and Keep doing good things. If anyone manage to be 'respected member', 'likes' is no longer 'a problem' anymore.

 

One of my "secrets" is to try and not get banned. Getting banned interferes with the process of getting likes.

 

Make some useful post or thread for this community.
try people or members to get her/his problem's solutions. then he or other surely like you.
