Very impressive! Was flipping the site for a large profit your goal when you first purchased the site for 3k? How did you accept that kind of payment? and if you don't mind, where did the buyer find out about the website? Were you making an attempt to sell it or did someone just contact you?

Get it listed on the big sales sites, get in touch with the big names in the Domaining industry and work with them on a joint sales deal, start getting in touch with relevant end users ...

... but always remember a Domain is only worth what someone's willing to pay for it and what your willing to sell it for

Congrats on your sale! That is quite the upswing on profit margin. Skeptics will always be just that. Personally, my mind works as why would you come back to let us know, if you werent being legit. So I trust in your words until there is reason not to. That is the way it should be. Just my opinion. You did mention you bought the domain (.net) for $3k, but turned around and bought a .com version of similar name. My only question in all of this is why not just buy the catchy .com domain and save your $3k? again, not doubting you, but think that is a fair question.

Alyssa, I think anyone can do it if you are determined. I've sold sites for $35k and $75k this and it's all the same process. As long as you have the patience to learn something new you can make money with websites a lot of different ways.

valuation sites are really only for entertainment value only.... there is no way in heck that my site is worth over $100, but comes up as being worth $30k.
