Looking for advice both positive and negative to help promote a blog. Wordpress based blog that has only been live for 2 weeks revstatusdotcom all seo has been done, just looking for expert advice
Create a list of 200 or so blogs / websites / social media sites that are related to your blog or target audience. For the blogs, start monitoring blog posts using feedly and posting genuine comments to get involved with their community. After a while you can reach out to the blog owners and open the lines of communication - if they are a blog maybe offer them to do a guest post, or tell them about a compelling post you wrote, which they may hopefully link to. For websites with links to other sites you might ask them to list your site as one of the resources ect. The important part is to get started with your list of related sites, and start to monitor and get involved.. This will eventually lead to link opportunities that will drive traffic to your site, and in turn help with your seo ranking which will drive more traffic. Apart from link building, you might wish to look at paid advertising like google Adwords or Facebook ads. Hope that helps
great advice r0nzz this will certainly be my next step thanks for the reply unna but i first want to obtain traffic without spending any money on advertising but i will be looking at PPC once i have some regular traffic
First of all, I would like to congratulate you for having a very good website. Now let us about driving traffic. Well, you have just done it. Building backlinks, commenting on related blog posts, forum posting, social media and the stuff like that. One important thing also is content. As what I can see you already have plenty of posts. Just continue posting more and more interesting contents. That way your website will rank for your targeted keywords. Overall, I love your site.
Make sure you keep us updated on how this goes for you dude. I'd been interested to know how it works out, what you find works best ect. You definitely have a nice looking site!

I am still fairly new in the field of Internet Marketing and i thought by marketing a blog i could understand the basics and proceed on to bigger projects. This is only my first site but there are plenty more to come. This advice is perfect if you have money as your capital. However if you only have minimal amount of money then you have to do it the hard way. SEO is the first thing to do to have free traffic.
currently the money being spent on this site will be to further develop it and even turn into an app, but my first priority is to generate regular traffic from SEO and link building. PPC is definitely next on the list and same with adsense or other related ad networks.
