    Well, his job is to prevent us from doing our job, so that we end up forced to use Adwords in order to get some sales :)
    But actually he is just the "face" that explains this and that, but surely it is a complete company strategy for more earnings, higher share price and happier shareholders, hence even more profit....

    Seriously, we have to thank him for doing his job. Off Course he could not make everyone happy. Let's imagine, Panda and Penguin were created to help good webmaster.
    Think about it:
    Long time ago, Links are very important to 'upgrade performance' in both SERP and Ranks. It leads to bigger troubles. Many big Companies and rich businessman began creating 'seems trusty links' with thousands of dollars. Big G know about it. Their first priority is to satisfy user whom using their Search engine. Big G began assessing their index and evaluating their system. The result is Panda and Penguin. It is not only teach webmaster to create good content but also increase the standard of blogging.
    Remember, creating links with whatever method, manual or automatic is 'not allowed'. Links should be natural. Submitting with manual method didn't make it White-hat. Remember, it falls into 'Building links' too.
    If you ask me, So we don't need to build links? Well, you are free to do anything. It is up to SE to think whether the link is natural or not. Even if it natural, they may think it the otherwise. The same thing happen when we build links but they think it as natural.

    I'm not fan of Google or Bing or DuckDUckGo. I'm a fan of DP. :D

    So, what does Matt Do? maybe he is boring reading my post in this thread. :p

    All I can say is that I have not seen an improvement in search quality here in South Africa. These zoo updates are making monkeys of all of us at some point or other, I'm all for progress but why do we have to go backwards 1st?

    Matt seems like a good guy but it is important to recognize he is part of a corporation run by shareholders. What is best for webmasters may not be best for shareholders, and this is a concept we have to accept whether we like it or not. As a result I have tried to decrease my use of google products just so my financial destiny is not too closely tied to the ups and downs of the search algorithm.
