mate its depend on your template layout and your niche if your niche is health related than you try to put 300x250 but mostly 300x250 is good and you will get good cpc but cpc depend your niche and your traffic where is your traffic coming if traffic is coming from usa uk australia canada than you get high cpc but niche is important good luck

468x60 ad unit generally gets higher CPC than 300x250 or 728x90 due to higher competition. I have also noticed that Text ads used to get better CPC than image ads.

Google currently states that using "Text/image" ads pays out 36% more on average than "text only" ads do. CPC is mainly down to your niche and keywords not ad size e.g. most advertisers won't pay more just for a particular ad size.

I would say it can partly depend in site layout. Otherwise you can do some testing then perhaps subscribe for services like Crazy Egg (I think there's also a free WP plugin that functions the same) and start with the recommended ad sizes by Google.

728 x 90 at the top of the page works very well.

I think CPC has nothing to do with ad size. It depends on niche and content. CMIIW

Image ads tend to get more CPC, as the whole ad area is one ad unit and google places highest bidder ad at that place related to your content. But most of the internet savvy's knows that they are ads.

728x90 would give you good CTR, try to put it at upper level of your site. Apart from 728x90, you should consider 250x250 banner size as well, try to put it within heading of our web page or at the bottom of your content.

yes but you mean CTR? As they are asking about CPC in relation to ad sizes - NOT placement / ad location on page

Hard to say there are no stats that show what Ad size has the most competition in AdWorld.

It really depends on the type of ads that appear on the site - some ads pay more than others, as the company pays more to show them.

Yeah, but the best thing would be to combine them:

High Click Through Ratio + High Cost Per Click = $$$$

All other combinations is a max of $$$ ;)
