I'm working on a site that had 12k unique visitors last month, this website in particular is focused on various guides for different MMORPG video games. I'm wondering what I can do to get some actual profit from this site, there are some affiliate links to clickbank products but nobody has really been purchasing anything (possibly due to the quality/freshness of the products) Anyone have some ideas on what else I could add to possibly generate some revenue?
Use advertising networks like Google Adsense and BuySellAds etc. They are both PPC forms of advertising and can get you a decent income on autopilot. I worked out on average that with a CPC of $0.50, a CTR of 5% and 12k visitors you will earn $300 a month. Take into consideration this is an average calculation.
You can restrict some of the essential features on your site and then charge a couple bucks to activated them. It will take someone to design and integrate a script that will have that kind of capacity. If you own some of the video games, why not to sell downloads of those video games? You didn't mention anything about any PPC advertising, do you have AdSense on your site?
If you have the capital, you can actually make your own little store by buying a small inventory consisting of just a few different products. Then put shop in the category bar and advertise yourself with banners,etc. Instead of getting 20% commissions, you're now getting 50-70% commissions and getting higher conversion rates. If you don't have the cash, do the exact same thing but with drop shipping. The effectiveness could be undermined if your website covers too make MMORPG, but it did wonders for my business.
A couple different ways I can think of: PPC click ads through adsense or PPV banners. You can really use any network as long as you optimize the ads for clicks by blending them into the site. Find better clickbank products or promote them better. People are more likely to buy when they trust you, so give them a reason to trust you and then recommend the product. You could use adsense, or another idea is to find the demographics of the visitors and then search offervault and odigger to find offers related to those demographics
It depends on the percentage of traffic comes from US? If you get descent traffic from US, you can put advertisements of interest from CJ, etc and make $$$ per month, but if most of your traffic is coming from developing countries, only google adsense can make you descent money.

As of right now the site has gotten 12k unique visits in the past 10 days and traffic has been increasing, so we should hit 40k uniques over a 30 day period in a couple weeks. Through adsense we have made only about 8 bucks over the past 10 days, so is there a way that could be better utilized?
