What got you your likes?

what was the post that got you your first like and which post got you the most or is your favourite?(IM NOT ASKING ANYONE TO GIVE ME A LIKE)

 

When we switched over to the like system on Jan.19, I was automatically given 34 likes from the old system. So I can't tell you what my 1st like was for. But I can tell you what my 35th like was for after Jan.19. It was for debating a guy who came on Support & Feedback forum and ran DP down. I gave him a piece of my mind and got 2 likes for that as I recall.

As far as the post that got me the most likes. I made a joke about being a blue alien from the planet Hoogooboogoo, and it made people laugh. I received 5 likes for that one. My joke had to do with someone asking if all our avatars were really of us.

I have no idea what I got my likes for, but I've just realized I have 36 of them. Maybe not thinking about getting them is key to eventually getting them (if it makes any sense).

Possibly...or it could be because you have just signed up and only made 2 posts, you don't get likes for nothing you know...

I am still looking forward for my first like but really don’t have any idea how to get it. I always get confuse by sharing something that whether people will like it or it will be crap for them. Due to this reason I always restrict myself to not to share anything. Anyway whenever I get my first like I’ll definitely share here my comments.

 

I didn't remember when I got my first like. I never think about it.
Now, after reading this thread, I'm planning to dig my post and find out the answer.

You should share your thought as long as you do believe it is good and appropriate.
You have a good avatar. However, it may make people afraid and stay away from pressing 'likes' button. I'm kidding BTW.

 

true, put a pretty and appealing avatar you will have more chances of getting likes.

 

Some guys should refrain from posting their own shots as their avatars, especially if you are 30 and older. If you're avatar is your face and you've been on this forum for the last 3 years and still have no reputation or likes.... maybe it's time to relace it.

 

I don't think that really works.

My theory - People that would give a like for an appealing avatar, don't have the privilege to do so and probably will never gain it

 

Only if it is a girl in avatar and if there are some horny idiots online..

 

yeah this is so true, some idiots look for girls avatar.. for likes, write good help post, write more thread in big general forums.

 

I found myself in hot water on g+ when I mentioned in one of the posts that accounts with hot women in them will always get more folks in their circles and +1's. One girl said it was stupid and unfair to say something like that. Well, she has well over a million people in her circle, and I kid you not, from what I was able to see, 80% of them are men.
