Free Directory Submission Software

I am an old-timer here getting used to this new setup for the forums. After two replies with me recommending these programs, I saw I could start a thread. Please note that I am not affiliated with these programs in any way. I found them the hard way and want to make your life easier!

Fast Directory Submitter: You can submit any number of sites to 150 directories, although only 70+ are still alive. But, in this short of a time? Don't count it out.

Directory Submitter (imwishlist): Once you get past the spammy-looking website and enter your name and email, you receive a download link. Download it, delete off of its included dead directories, and add as many alive ones as you want. You can then submit any number of sites to any number of your favorite directories! It fills out the forms automatically once you go to the add url page. Just enter the captcha, and go to the next directory!

I would steer clear of this approach in a post-Penguin 2.0 world.

Directory submission software that is outdated probably does more harm than good. The directories are probably slammed with pending sites and yours are just buried at the end of the list. If you're going to use some kind of directory submission software I would at least make sure it was up to date and constantly updated with new and active directories.

 

What is outdated is directory submission as a meaningful part of webmastering.

 

Sure, If you're internet marketing strategy is focusing on just one search engine. The fact is there are still some quality directories out there and getting listed does have its perks and juice.

 

Directory submission is outdated now adays, looking like spamming...

 

It will be a lot safer to submit your site to only few directories, like DMOZ and Yahoo. It's probably outdated but worth trying.

Directory submission software is not use because Directory is not worth it. and Google is not consider Directory submission.

 

Directory submission would still help you if you submit fresh description and title to some quality directories.

 

Directory submission is not an abuse. use it wisely for the sake of long run results. Choose wisely the list of best directories and then submit your site(s) with great care.
