    Hi,

Thinking of starting a new site mainly based on a forum. Would you advise to go with a site log in to post and reply to conversations/topics or integrate Facebook and allow people to post and comment that way?

It depends on your forum topic. If your forum has nothing to do with privacy, where users can freely disclose their identity, facebook login could be a good choice since they don't have to remember another user credential for your forum.
If your forum targets an audience with high privacy, then provide account creation feature.
A third choice would be providing both, local and facebook integrated logins.

I think the third choice would be the best option then. So they could either log in using their facebook or log in using our account feature. Thank you
