When ever I pick up a Client I usually take a short cut to get them ranked pretty quickly. the short cut is investing in an aged domain that has pr and also is industry specific. Once I buy the pr4-5 domain I start building some links to it with anchor text containing main keywords, keywords mixed with other words, and branded terms. I notice by using this tactic you skip the process of building authority and trust to your new domain. Since the aged one with pr and backlinks already is established and ranked in search engines. Where do I pick these up>? http://www.yourmaindomain.com/ http://www.prname.net/ http://domains.prnator.com/ Always check for fake pr using this tool : http://www.seomastering.com/fake-pagerank-checker.php Hope this can help some one get a head start in rankings clients websites. Thanks
I would agree this strategy is effective and will help you to achieve ranking quickly as you described.
Hey guys... This is a super effective strategy. Most SEOs just recommend purchasing high PR domains to link to your money site. However, actually purchasing a PR5 or PR6 domain and using it for your money site is the fastest way to dominate in any niche, especially if you're building an authority site. If you're determined to have a cool relevant domain, search Register Compass and buy a relevant niche specific domain that is 5+ years old.
thanks for your input. Yea register compass is a great tool to filter results by metrics, i also use prpowershot.com to find domains.
P PR Powershot is OK. Great for picking up PR3s for $30-$50. But 4's and 5's get bid up to ridiculous numbers.
@ Huddlers. Yea tell me about it. Its great for the quick pickups last second but the pr 4-6 get over bidded and price becomes over prices fairly quick.
It is really a great "short-cut"! However, there is one risk that the page rank shouldn't go in next page rank update. The domain name shouldn't be penalized by an update of Google.com etc.
As long as you redirect all pages of the PR site to the home page so the people linking to it don't see any 404 errors; most links will stick for years and years. Do that and also keep building new links and the PR shouldn't fall.
"It is really a great "short-cut"! However, there is one risk that the page rank shouldn't go in next page rank update. If those Power backlinks drop most likely will the PR when the next update comes. @Hudders 301ing the dead pages it crucial. Good point
