isn't budget co-related to keywords?

I'm looking for seo services (i'm not asking for services in section).

i am here to discuss, if 'x' keyword need to be promoted for my site doesn't it matter what budget i should keep for 'x' keyword depending on its value? just like adwords pricing.

But unfortunately I am here to find that many seo service providers here are ready to charge anything without caring about keyword or keeping a budget in mind correlated to the keyword value?

If one says $300 a month and I ask for re-quote and tell my budget is $150 then also other person is ready to provide same services.

My point is how do I find and search for perfect company/advisor/manager who really moves out from the fact i'm paying in advance or my budget is 150-250-350-500/a month.

    Thanks

IMHO anyone pricing all keywords as one monthly price is likely to be stringing you along.

Let me give you an example

Let us say someone charges a monthly price for all keywords. So this could mean "Homes to rent" would cost you the same per month as "Timbuktu homes to rent"

Now "Timbuktu homes to rent" you would likely get a good results for your money whereas "Homes for rent" you are likely going to get milked like a cow month after month and probably not get page 1 where you need to be and are paying to get.

So if you are being offered a "one price for any keyword" type deal IMHO it has to be bull as it is not possible to price this way. The work it would take for one keyword or keyword phrase is nothing like the other and so each thing presented IMHO should be priced according to what is presented.

thats what I actually thought @RD...Now many seo experts are asking me for $200 a month no matter what keyword i throw to them and I always thought if a keyword for eg like 'hosting' would be more expensive than any cheap keyword who doesn't have much result.

It's all to do with getting those monthly payments IMHO. This is one of the reasons why so many people say SEO's are all spammers and charalatans as sooo (< That's not a word but you get what I mean) many do this. Yet if one stops and thinks it is clear keywords and keyword phrases are all different.

Cheap car insurance as a keyword phrase can't be priced at the same monthly rate as > well pick phrases a lot easier and do the maths. :)

You should be very wary of such pricing offers IMHO

Sensible SEO's would want to see what you require and take a look at what would be required b4 giving a realistic price.

It's a case of where angels fear to tread others will talk the talk for the sale in order to milk your wallet each month, only it is not milk they are willing to take it is much more and much worse.

Yeah that's what a lot of SEOs do. They just charge you for months and they just say that it may take from 6 moths to a year to rank for your keyword. I think it will be better , and a lot cheaper, if your were to learn SEO yourself. It really isn't that difficult and maybe once you get good at it your can start charging those monthly fees yourself ;).

most of the seos just want to earn money, you need a complet audit for your website and for that particular word. I you want to be on the first page for the long tail keyword "jerry ate a banana split" you can be there in 3 months with only 100$, if you want to be an the first page for "online poker" you need ten of thousands of dollars for more than 12 months ( and in many cases this kind of money will not help you because on the first page are websites which have thousands of backlinks)...
