Contest Improve my LOGO contest. Winner gets $33 Aiming to end it in 48hrs

contestant: I appreciate the effort. #16 I like the position of the word proteins but everything else is still very busy looking. Please remember I like simple and stylish designs. #19 the first one the G and B aren't bold enough and the effect you gave the proteins makes it look too busy. The following logo is also too busy looking and the other one looks a bit Chinese as well as once again too busy for the word proteins.

d4nt0: thanks for the entry. I like the font you used for g and b. Very modern which is what I like. But I don't think I like the effect you used inside the g and b and also the word proteins is missing.

shibs: the first one the g and b are too thin. I prefer a bolder type. For the rest of them the g and b somehow don't look too modern in my opinion. For some reason they remind me of a comical/cartoonish type of font and I prefer a more new/modern type of font. If I was to choose one I would choose the second one but I still would do something for the word proteins to make it look better (perhaps placing it on its own background such as a rectangular or ovalish shape).

T.j. Detwiler: sorry I am not sure how I missed your entry earlier. It's an ok looking logo but I feel like it is a little plain which misses the wow factor.

falloutvic: thanks for the entry. It's a very hard one to judge because I really like it. Everything seems to blend together extremely well. Let me get some more opinions on it but my initial thought is while I like them both I am not sure if they are suitable for this project as they look a little cartoonish and I need something a little more modern looking. But like I said, give me some time to get a few more opinions from my associates.

EllenSmith: Thank you for entering this contest but unfortunately it's not what I am after. Most basic mistake is you did not read the requirements properly where I said everything can be changed except for the original X which must stay the same.

logoesdesign: I like it but I have one major problem with it. In Australia there is a very big retailer of electronics called JB HI FI. If you do a google search for images for JB HI FI you will see their logo is very similar to what you did and that is why I could not use it. Other than that I like it and perhaps the word proteins would look better without the actual effect you gave to the letters (it looks a bit too busy right now).

contestant: they all look fine. The only "problem" is none of them seem to have that unique or wow factor. They are fine but they look a little too plain somehow.

shibs: much, much better. These look like real logos and not just some letters on a page. My favorite is the one on the bottom on the left side. Usually a day before I close the contest I choose some finalists and then they decide whether or not they will do the changes to have a chance to win the contest. It's too early to request changes. I will do that when I wake up tomorrow. I would have liked to see the bottom one on the left with the original X and then the g and B in the same font but yellow letters with black outline.

cristiano 18: thank you for entering this contest. Nice entry. I would have preferred to see more yellow rather than white and perhaps less of an effect on the word proteins because right now it looks a little too busy.

Thank you for the feedback, here's a color update and some minor tweaks:

 

Ok guys, here's where I am at the moment. The contest is still open to anyone that wants to enter, BUT you have to come up with something better than the finalists.

What I normally do is I choose the finalists and they decide whether or not they want to do some changes in order to win or perhaps they don't want to go any further.

One thing I will ask of all finalists (or anyone who still wants to enter this contest) is download this image from here https://www.wetransfer.com/downloads/3406b858d1e0e4f757a3fda054933bac20130610012551/38bb8f (it's a pdf and I can't extract anything from pdf) and just simply replace your logo with the existing one. You can post it back as a low res jpeg and only post the part where the test appears as the rest (the empty sides can be chopped off) is just a label that will wrap up around a tub. So just simply replace your own logo with the existing one from the pdf.

Finalist 1: cristiano18 #30. If you want to try and win this contest please place the logo on the image above (link provided). And then just one more change: leave the logo exactly as it is (#30) and simply change the X with the original one.

But in this case (when you change the X with the original one) you may have to do the G and B and proteins in reverse colours (G and B become yellow and a black outline and perhaps even proteins becomes black with a yellow outline)

logosesdesign: I am sorry but the new one seems to be a step backwards. It doesn't have the background that made the other one look like a "complete" logo and the new G and B don't seem to go that well together with the X. They somehow don't seem to match.

pheonix89: thank you but it's a bit too busy for my liking. I usually like simple and stylish.
