Strangely in the last few hours I am getting javascript errors when replying to threads, replying to PM's or trying to edit any replies.

Just thought you ought to be made aware.

I believe this has to do with too many members posting at once. A temporary thing I'm sure. When it happens just wait for 10-15 seconds and repost until this glitch is fixed.

Tried that spoiltdiva and it still repeats it at times to and then let's you post on a later attempt but it's not normal and only a recent bug since last downtime I think.

    Something is not quite right...

Another thing I just noticed is "alerts" are not always happening when people post in some threads when one might have already posted in said thread.

not quite sure if that happened at all prior to the last little downtime either or whether it has happened since the cluster failure downtime previous to that.

You won't get an alert on a new reply if the thread has unread replies already... Basically it will give you an alert and then won't give you any more until you actually read the thread.

You can get a pretty good idea of threads you probably have set up for alerts that won't give you a new alert since they have unread posts (you didn't read it since previous alert) here:

It was one I had already read all other posts in Shawn, but do't think it is the firts time today I was on spy and an alert never came even thpugh I was watching posts had been made. It's probably nothing as most are alerting correctly.

Hmmm... I'll keep my eye on it and see if I notice anything going on. If you notice it happening again, let me know the thread ID and I'll go digging in the database.

Well I just looked at the logic of when to send/not-send an alert...

It will not send an alert if any of this is the case:
    • You are the last replier (no alert about yourself).
    • Poster is on your ignore list.
    • Some logic about if the second to last poster is ignored, but I didn't go digging too much into that one
    • You have not read the thread since the last alert for it.
    • You don't have permission to view the thread.
    • You don't have alerts suppressed in your settings
From reading through the code, that looks like it's it...

well I am not sure I just know I was on spy and ryan-uk posted - no alert - but there should have been and it's not the first time since last downtime, but can't say if it had happened "also" since cluster failure as I am not sure if it's since then or not or only since last downtime when other error also began to occur.

which it hasn't done in the last couple of hours I might add (the javascript one I mean)

this other strange alert error is only sometimes though as you can see from drop down screenshot your post alerted whereas ryan's didn't but should have as I saw it (his posts) happen on spy

Yeah to be honest, I'm not sure... I know internally alerts went out (at least for some users) because I got the alert on the exact post that you didn't get one for...

I haven't personally seen it happen to me, but will definitely look closer for it now. Do you have *anyone* on your ignored user list?

quick heads up that there is still a bit of a bug in things

reporting spam posts is taking extra effort presently as it is firing up a "you must wait 30 seconds" warning/notification even if you never did anything prior to that action to warrant such a notice. Took me 3 attempts to report the last spam post I reported.

-- double post when it said none of them were submitted!?! --

What Revelations-Decoder is reporting is the behavior I'm seeing trying to post ANYTHING -- and it pissed me off so much I thought maybe it was AJAX-tard BS so I disabled scripting, and it's even WORSE there as the error message doesn't show the form, resetting the blasted submit to 30 seconds when you go back!

It's useless -- took me five minutes just to lodge this complaint!

The exact same thing was happening to me today, I thought it might be from my end....guess it's not.
