I have a business website domain .in. Now i want to take a .com domain. If i use same content on 2 sites, it will harm SEO?
yes, it will be harmful. One of them will be consider as copy content, so don't use same content. At this era content is an important part of SEO and without unique and quality content you cannot do SEO.
i want to create .com website because i want to grow business outside india as currently i have domain .in so it will not come on first page if it is .in.
Yes, very harmful in SEO point of view. It will be count a duplicate site. You can redirect one domain to another with a 301 permanent redirect.
If you want to promote globally for this site, then the best option is to redirect the domain to .com and promote this. Initially you may face problem, but after some time it will be OK.
Though holding out to see how SEOmoz fair with search results like this and the chnage from SEOmoz to moz will be interesting as there is something funky going on presently even though they have redirects set up the last time I checked. But presently they have hundreds of duplicate listings in Google results.
of course. You will hurt your seo rankings. You will get penalized. It doesn't matter if is the same business website. Google doesn't know that he just see duplicate
http://www. bigrock. in/ and http://www. bigrock. com/ are also the same sites.. There are many websites which are same too same.
I think it's too bad that Google does this, because if it's our own sites we are duplicating we shouldn't be penalized. Still, it would always be in your best interest to place unique content on every single page--writing that is completely different than what's on your other pages.
Check again, if you don't see any difference between those 2 sites, its sad. content is different from each other. You can use same design but not content.
