    Hello everyone,

    I want to start a forum and would like to use this layout http://www.usmleforum.com/forum/index.php?forum=4 , can someone please mention what type of forum this is and better yet suggest a script. Input much appreciated.

    i think it's a stand-alone forum.. and it's like an old version of SMF (Simple Machine forum) i said old version.. but im not really sure... if you need my advice for a forum script, you can use Mybb Forum it's really good, Seo friendly and stable..

    This is most likely a custom-built PHP forum. If you want something like that, I would recommend going with something like http://www.minibb.com/ or http://bbpress.org/ both are more of a minimum style like the forum that is in the link.

    I love phpBB and always have since it's extremely customizable. I've tried SMF and didn't like it. But as they have already said it looks like a custom board it's mostly just a category with replies to it. Which you could make, if you wanted.
