What are the questions we should ask before hiring an SEO company?
    1. How old the company is?
    2. What guarantee are they giving?
    3. How their own website is doing?
    4. Few reference checks.
    5. Examples of their work.
    6. Do they know recent changes in Search Engine algorithm
    7. Know more about their content writers
    8. What are the tools do you use?
    9. Why should one hire you?
    10. Can you show some examples of your tracking reports?

Let me know if you have anything to add here.

So let's start with question 1 then "How old is your SEO Company"? :)

We will get on to question two when we establish all the aspects of question one...

yea SEO was pretty EASY when spamming is still very effective like blasting the hell out of the forums and blogs. But now that has changed eh?

Dunno if others have some question to add but I think for me the 10 questions listed is already enough.

Even if without spamming, we were getting great result. It was not that hard.

I'd want to know who owns the company, their linkedin profiles.
I'd want to know who would actually be handling my account, their history and their linkedin profiles too.
I would want to know how long you've been in your current location
I would want to know what your staff turnover is like.
I'd want to know your training protocols so that I never find some idiot posting on this forum saying "my senior officer wants me to..." but doesn't actually have a clue how to do it.

that might get the ball rolling but I imagine it would also weed out a lot of "companies".
And yeah, 10 years ago it wasn't so I'd want to know how you've responded to the increasing sophistication of the search engines and the websites they index.

    I appreciate these 5 points.

    11. I'd want to know who owns the company, their linkedin profiles.
    12. I'd want to know who would actually be handling my account, their history and their linkedin profiles too.
    13. I would want to know how long you've been in your current location
    14. I would want to know what your staff turnover is like.
    15. I'd want to know your training protocols so that I never find some idiot posting on this forum saying "my senior officer wants me to..." but doesn't actually have a clue how to do it.

I don't understand your response. We're discussing the questions you'd ask, not the responses your company would actually give. This thread (although you started it) isn't about your company. It is about the questions you ask before hiring an SEO company (correct me if I'm wrong).

AuroIN has its own pages at www.auroin.com to answer these questions.
In this is thread, AuroIN is not going to answer these questions. I believe, others should not also expect answers from AuroIN to these questions.

This thread is only to help people to find the right SEO company for their business.
Sarahk has mentioned 5 points which are great. So total 15 points as of now. I look forward to get few more points. Thank you again sarahk for your contribution.

So total 16 points to be asked before hiring an SEO company.

Good questions and answers for hiring an SEO..

Well, I would say that their work history answers all, but you have to check their true work history if you can..

I think old age of a company does not matter a lots..As its present work matters, how it is doing right now not in past or since past..Because The SEO techniques change as per google algo changes..So, it does not matter that if a company is providing Effective SEO techniques in its past then it will also provide same effective results in today as on the Google updates or changes..

Except if they keep having to change their name because they have a shocking reputation, clients are always unhappy etc then how they operated last year does matter.

Old age matters: Everyday hundreds of people opening their SEO company. Every day 99 SEO companies closing their operation. Its important to see, if the company is old or not and very important to see if they know the current seo trend.

But if a company is old then it does not mean that the employees are also old, may be they are new and don't know much about current SEO..SO, i think it is better to know about the work experience of employees of SEO company rather knowing about old age of SEO company..

    They are both valid questions.

If the company has high staff turnover they can bring in the good guys with big promises, get some good clients and then the staff leave because the company sucks and the clients are left with novices.

None of those questions is "the" question, they all need to be asked.

Hi auroin! i think your two questions doesn't matter that company's age and secondly "What guarantee are they giving?" Firstly, Nobody can give you a guarantee for Work because it depends on many thing and most probably on Google. At last i want to tell you that company's age doesn't matter because many companies in market from many years but they didn't get result yet.
