Anyone want to discuss about this matter whether how long or short a good article can be? Lots of bloggers aren't sure how many words each page should have to ensure that search engines and visitors come back often, They don't want to have too little words, but they also don't want to have too many words. So what do you think is the right length to put your article in the category of "useful articles"?
Everyone seems to follow what Jill Whalen said years ago and go for the 500 I see everywhere. I ignore that completely and write what I want, when I want, how I want and ignore all keyword density after establishing focus at the beginning of page. Eg write what feels right to write at the time.
Article length is not important, 300 word unique article will also rank if it is written by quality writer. You can check it with Google alerts with every new post where you post land after publishing.
Maybe article length depends on topic. I do recall that one of Google Panda's algo parts dealt with article length, and 750 to 800 words was a noted Panda requirement, at least for some sites.
Sounds like bollocks to me that does tbh. If the best answer to a search query is given in 250 words then that's that, if 2500 then that's that...
I think the quality and information of the article counts more than meeting the right number of words. An article should be as long as it`s necessary to cover the story without being boring for the reader.
For me personally, The ideal article should have at least 350 words, but no more than 1500 words. Anything less than 350 words and search engine spiders might just skip over your site entirely, anything more than 1500 and spiders won’t take the time to search through the content for keywords. You should strive to write content that is entertaining and easy to read. Don’t drone on and on just to meet the 350 word requirement. Find things to talk about that are relevant to your site and come up with ways to say them in a concise manner. Remember that search engine bots aren’t the only thing to come to your site, people are also coming to your site and they will want to read content that makes them want to visit again. Aim to please them first, then the search engine bots. P.S. Writing content between 350-1500 words is easy as long as you come up with good content to write about and try to be as concise as possible.
As Content is King for Search engines & humans, It is better to have more content on the page.Providing less content makes your blog thin content.
I don't think there's a rule you have to follow, but between 400-600 is a good length. Not too short, not too long. Take note that this is an average, and a sort of guide. If you want to write longer articles, then by all means. Have a good day!
