Why are both the good and bad examples leading to the same forum?

I also like how you snuck your refferral id for TLA in there.

Because that's the forum I'm using for the example...

I didn't sneak anything in there, anybody can read the link they're visiting. Feel free to just reload TLA.com w/o the referral ID. I use TLA and they're a good thing to use, so it's part of the article.

Great article. Could somebody explain to me this "revenue sharing" thing you have on your forums and here on DP. I don't really get what that does.

Revenue sharing is sharing revenue (really?) that the site makes. Here at DP and at Profit Geek, both of those places share AdSense revenue. So if a person makes a thread, and someone clicks on the AdSense in that thread, that person gets some of the money made off of that click.

DP shares 25% of the revenue I believe, and Profit Geek shares all 100%. So at Profit Geek, it's just like each thread you make is your own little site that can make some money.

-Achilles-, which hack are you using to detect the winner of your contest. I noticed that each user has a "points" field associated with his account! Is it the way you used to find the winner?

I just opened a new forum and looking for such a hack (which will allow me to specify which action (starting a thread, posting, getting reputation...) contributes how much points).

Our points system is set up through vBulletin called vbPlaza. Just do a search on it and you will find where to download and install it.

    Yep.

Sorry, this will be the last question. :D Do I put my client ID in as the AdSense for content number or the Adsense for search number (or something else)?

The client ID, it's in the form of pub-xxxxxxxxxxx and is found in all of your AdSense codes.

I don't mind questions, just ask if you have any :).

Well if you don't mind...:) How would I setup a channel ID for this forum? And after that, how do I get it's code to enter into my UserCP here.

You do so by going into your adsense account and click on channels. It woudl probably be easier just to add forums.digitalpoint.com or forums.profitgeek.com for example. then in your profile field you put in your content pub id and would just leave the channel id blank if you set it up with a url in your account.
