I imagine new search engine as vast endless forum where we discuss each search result. Open search discussion :)

I think we would all regress, and use pencil and paper, until round tires become square, and the stone tablets reappear....

I think most of Google's shareholders would probably kill themselves.

The world would cry. People would return to classified ads and phonebooks like the Yellow Pages to look for numbers :)

couple of months later Someone else would be King of the Hill and everyone would be "Google Who?"

I will be in the line-up to buy Yahoo stocks, I might as well get some Microsoft stocks too. In second thought, I'll create a new search engine.

All the other serach engines will be very happy. All the investors in other search engines will very happy.
People would found out that bing is written faster then google - as it is shorter.

So life would go on as google did not existed. Sure some talks would be after it's closure but generally people will search for "stuff" using other methods.

We would all be swiping the air saying, 'glass are you there?' and two stepping into walls because 'achy breaky heart' is playing from a scratched cd on an old walkman we had to buy off of ebay.
