When will Facebook die out if ever?

Hi,

I have never been a fan of Facebook. Along ago I was using Orkut and I loved it. I loved it too much and it even inspired me to make my own parenting community. Not that many people used FB on that time around me (now it's the other way around). But finally I deleted my Orkut account because for me it seemed pointless to get closer with technology and not with friends.

I am not saying Facebook is bad or anything like it. It's a tool. And it has some great features. I remember they had made their video upload very simple and easy. Video was uploading while you were changing/adding information about it. Youtube added this option after that. But let's get to the point.

Why I think Facebook could die out for ethical reasons:

A) The idea was stolen and built unethically - Mark Zuckerberg cheated the people who came up with the idea and stole it from them. Even later in the court he falsified information. Maybe this would be something that happen only once? Let's go to the B and C

B) On the way to success Mark cheated his friends and partners to gain power along the way. Example Sean Patrick and Eduardo Saverin etc.

C) And then finally the same pattern of cheating everyone continued with the stock. But now Mark and FB team pulled this "prank" on die hard Facebook fans who bought the stock and lost 50% of their money and keep on losing it as the shares aren't worth that much. A lot of Facebooks employees sold the stock first chance they had and sold it to the limit. Every time those limits get lifted new sells are made and the stock keeps on falling. It should take 100 years to earn this money back with a current moneyflow that Facebook has.

Maybe those points doesn't mean anything. Once you get rich and powerful, all is forgiven

And other reasons:

I think people will become bored some day and look for an alternative to share. I can't tell if the alternative is something else or something new or just same old Facebook with new features will keep them happy.

What do you think, will it die out one day and when might that day come?

I think it's fair to say that history tends to repeat itself and bring in the sample of MySpace.

When mentioning MySpace it brings up thoughts of my last 2 visits there.
A year or 2 ago MySpace built a new logo and new look and feel, this was one of the 2 times I have visited this place in this time. The second time was few weeks ago when they sent me a message via email "Whole new MySpace", seems that they tried once again... I guess I am not the targeted market.

But I think this will be the future of Facebook too, in a way.

 

Now a Day Facebook is not Just social Networking site ,Facebook Become a plateform for Marketing .Facebook Marketing is Very Famous now a day so Facebook will not Die next 10 year

 

I believe in Karma theory.

And one of the point is;
"Change is law of nature"

So previously there were forums, orkut etc. Tomorrow may be something new.

I think they need to stop changing their appearance. Everyone seems to complain when they tweak something. Perhaps, they should let people have more freedom on how their own page looks. Give people more options.

That could be one way to keep fb popular.

I don't think fb will ever die. As people get bored and sign off little kids are getting older and signing up.

According to Forex Exchange Market, facebook die in 2020. The main reason for die orkut is account hacked(Refer - Newspaper).

hack FB account could be the reason why I, for example, lost my personal safety, and then stop using social networks..

 

FB won't die within the next 10+ years.

All of the Holier than thou, "I don't support big corporations like Walmart because they don't pay their employees enough", "I don't like fb because of how they stole this or that", "I use a mac because Microsoft is junk and stole everything"...blah blah.

No offense but it doesn't mean anything and it doesn't matter. Microsoft will die when someone bigger and better comes along. Walmart will fade when someone bigger and better comes along. And guess what? FB will die when someone bigger and better comes along.

Do you use google+? Just asking.

 

If someone can make better social network than facebook.
It has still enough life in it to survive for next few years

 

If facebook will make its own search engine merged with facebook account it will kill google
Facebook will live maybe 5-6 more years then something new will be

 

I think in next 5 to 8 years..

 

Everything that grows and changes will remain and inspire. As much as I would like to say that facebook will die off in the next five years because I do agree that people do depend on it a bit too much, facebook has adapted to the online world and as far as I can see is only expanding. Facebook is still a wonderful resource for marketing and socializing!
