Traffic is mostly related to high ranking SERPS perhaps and a very neglible backlinking strategy so a site might have zero PageRank but masses of visitors by getting found on page 1 of search results.

At least that's one possibilty that might be quite likely...

Pagerank is a Google measurement. Alexa ranking is an Amazon.com measurement. Pagerank rates the value and authority of that one single page on a site when a particular keyword phrase is entered into Google. Alexa ranking is a list of whole websites ranked from 1 to...millions with 1 representing the most highly ranked website.

The Alexa ranking offers free basic traffic data and demographics that can be helpful to a person who might be interested in getting general information about a site's targeted audience. That can be useful for pay per click marketing, deciding on where to guest post, finding relevant sources, etc.

Pagerank involves one page, one URL. Don't confuse it with the metrics for the entire website.

Let's use Amazon.com as an example. Amazon gets tons of traffic and is ranked very highly in the Alexa ranking. Suppose Amazon wrote a blog post about "organic cherry yogurt" in order to promote its organic food products, and the page rank of that blog post turns out to be a PR 0 for the keyword "organic cherry yogurt".

That just means the page is worth PR 0, not the entire site. So if you tried to get a link from that page, it probably wouldn't be worth much. However, everybody knows that Amazon is an authoritative site.

Bottom Line: Pagerank is a Google measurement. Alexa rankings are an Amazon measurement. They are two different metrics from two different organizations that measure different things.

If any site has good ranking then it must have traffic too.....

Any PR0 site would have traffic, there is no doubt to it..

    Hey niks76,
Don't bother about alexa rank and who knows how many of their Alexa rank are true visitors, it may be due to high bounce rate..

If you want to PR, you need off page submission in Do follow sites.

yes you are right. The high bounce rate can be the reason. I am also having the same issue. I have PR 0 and alexa around 200K. My bounce rate is around 60%.
