Start over. Otherwise, prepare for months of hard work to fix things.

Simple this: Build your website for your niche market not for search engines. Build a normal website in other words don't follow the advice like these:

-- write content on your website every day
-- create and put an article on your website every day
-- put keyword or related keyword you want to rank for on every page...

SEO is all about # of backlinks you have, and other factors related to backlinks so forget all about onpage optimization.

Learn website conversion strategies, copywriting and other marketing tactics to convert traffic into leads/buyers etc.

If you found that your site has been penalized or de-indexed by Google, then correct the mistakes that you have done previously. Submit a reconsideration request to be re-included in the Google index with the help of your webmaster tool account..

    Hi niks76,

It depends what kind of spam?

    On-page? - Remove it!!!
    • Find duplicate content, remove or 301 redirect it
    • Find low quality content - make it better, or remove/301 redirect it to a better page
    • Spammy ads on the site, or links out to spammy sites? - Remove them
    • dodgy redirects/white-on-white text/iframes etc - remove them
    • Fix any duplicate title tags etc
Off-page? - Fix what you can!!!
    • Perform a link audit (via opensiteexplorer etc)
    • - check for low PR (pr n/a) sites
    • - check for site-wide links
    • - check for links with exact match anchor texts
    • Once you have a list of the worst links, try to contact the webmasters that own/manage the sites, and remove the links (or if they are good links, but with exact match anchors, ask for branded 'domain' 'brand name' or 'www.domain.com' style links)
    • Any bad links you can't get rid of, consider using the disavow tool in Google's webmaster tools (WMT).
    • If you have had a bad link warning via Google's WMT, then once you have done with your clean-up, get all the info and details of links you have removed into a Google docs spreadsheet, and submit a reconsideration request - giving them the link to the Google docs sheet. Be warned though, they can be very strict!
More advanced link stuff - once the cleanup is done...
    • Try to engage on social channels (DON'T SPAM!), and get some organic tweets etc of your content (by having great content!)
    • Try to gain some good quality links as organically as possible (high quality guest posts, run some contests, etc).
    Hope that helps!

    Mike.

Redesign the website with fresh and unique contents. Then start promoting in it.

    If the site is small,
    Great tips! Thanks for sharing!

If you find your site has been penalized, you need to ask yourself if you still think it's worth it to get the site back up. As you can see, based on the above suggestions, it'll take considerable time and effort to get the site back again. Think hard as it might be better to build another site altogether.

My two cents. Have a good day!

in google webmaster on left hand side you will see links to your site.

Download all the links which are there in excel sheet format.

Mark the ones which you think are spam as red and keep others in different colors.

Any website which has low page rank does not mean that it is a spam

Once you have marked all of the spam links to red contact there owners or login to the accounts and make them no follow or completely remove them.

may be after this your ranking may go even down but after this is done try to go for quality and natural links.

once this is done you are all set
