I've seen it written throughout different internet channels that “Article Marketing is deadâ€. I wanted to take the time to explain how I use article marketing and why it is as good as it has ever been. To start off, I only use one directory: Ezine Articles. Here's how I, and most other Article Marketers approach things: Always place the article on your own website first. This is your content so why not have it on your website first, rather than the article directory getting the initial content. At one time, many article marketers, including myself, were using article directories for direct traffic. After the Panda updates on Google, I truly do not receive much direct traffic from Ezines any more. The traffic I get is from writing articles with supreme content and getting them republished on others websites from the article directory. It is always helpful to contact the large websites in your niche and ask if they would consider republishing the article on their website. Once you establish some credibility the website owners will be more than happy to use your content. Make sure you have an excellent call to action in your resource box. It is best to combine some mystery with a giveaway of some type. Article marketing is still as good as it ever was, it just takes a bit more of creativity to succeed. In conclusion, it is still a highly effective and free form of marketing. I hope this helps. Steve Smith
There's room for article marketing for sure but with so much effort, it would be best to invest time in something more productive that will yield results faster and at a greater return.
Getting articles re-published is not as hard as you might think. The article must be of high quality though. The days of poor quality and spun articles are over, which is actually a good thing. Steve
Have to agree that we all only want to read high quality articles. I have never spun articles because I think it really lowers the value of the articles. Writing from scratch is not as difficult as it may seem - do your research, take some notes and then go and write your article.
As for being too much time and effort for its worth, I would definitely disagree. Some of the websites in my niche are getting a huge amount of traffic to their websites. IM is filled with misinformation unless you check out stats for yourself you will never know. Bettaone I agree completely with your comment. Steve
Really appreciated your suggestions, I was planning to use Article Marketing to promote my services. Will give it a try and will come back to this thread with results.
Most marketers are apprehensive to go into article marketing because it requires a certain amount of creativity, skill and time. It does, but I think if you lay out a strategy first, (like determining where you will get your articles, what directories to submit to, etc), then it will not be as difficult. Thanks for sharing! All the best!
Definitely, writing from scratch isn't that difficult. Do research, take notes, and write it all down in your own words. People have this obsession over quantity and believe they need 100's of spun articles for backlinks or traffic. Natural sounding content goes a long way and in my experience, taking the time to write my own articles has been very profitable. I still pay for content on a regular basis, but I do the majority of my own article marketing.
