Disavow Tool Not Working For Me

    Hello,

I've been disavowing a list of links in the Webmaster Tools account, but it's not working (yet). It's been 3 months and I still see those "bad" backlinks and no sign in the Webmaster Tools of Google having done anything. I even updated my disavow list 3 times.

I know it's supposed to "take long", but this long?

I simply uploaded the required notepad-generated file in which I have a vertical list of domains, sites that I want to disavow links from.

What is your opinion on this? Did you have the same problem?

    What should be done?

The links will still be there but apparently treated differently by the G in that they will be aware you marked these as bad links

or did I miss something in your question?

Yes, that's correct... I want them not to count anymore. I got thousands of junk backlinks, many from SEO stats sites, but also a lot of junk/spam sites and I don't know how they appeared.
I am also receiving some junk traffic from those poor quality sites.

Well the G can't remove your links from others sites. Hence why they went with this disavow thing in the first place to some extent if you think about it.

Giving site owners at least the ability to ark those links as bad links.

Only you can do that bad link removal thing by, perhaps, contacting said site owers to ask for your links to be removed.
I say perhaps as some sites will just choose to ignore you. Scraper sites that steal content and list lot's of crap stats never reply and ignore requests in my experience.

Google Disavow Tool - is only informing Google not to consider certain links pointing to your website. Google bot will be ignoring all the links which were submitted by you in txt file. So no need to worry about.., even they show on your webmaster tools as a backlink but it is IGNORED by Google BOTs..,

That's exactly my case. I manage a site that has over 8,000 poor quality backlinks. But many are from the same domains. Spam sites all and/or poor quality SEO sites that display whois data, Alexa Ranking etc.

What I can do is disavow the ones that bring the most traffic and the most prominent, worst spam sites that show up in Google.

I just can't feel the effect of the disavow yet.
