I think Wordpress is most popular among the bloggers. I use this cms too and I've never met with it any problems. But maybe solve your doubt help you Artisteer - tool which let you create a templates in Wordpress and Joomla system. Test and check what excatly offering both software.

I started out learning on Joomla but switched over to WordPress based on the fact that some of my clients were interested in using it. I am finding that it is more well-known and it is easier to find solutions for your needs based on the fact that so many people are using it. Both are great systems, and can do the same things (but not always in the same ways).

I would say that Wordpress is a much better platform, although there are people that would argue about this. I use wordpress for all of my non-ecommerce websites.
It is easy to use, there are lots of free contributions and really big community in case of problems...
Also it is a well known fact that Google loves wordpress.

    Joomla! also has a
Joomla also has a big community, just check their forums.
My vote goes to Joomla, just because I like Joomla code, is more clean and you can extend it very easy. If you have some php knowledge, you can even modify Joomla built-in components without too much headaches, like in Wordpress case.
But I guess for a typical Joe user both are great.

I think joomla is much more universal for the most websites. Probably joomla is more difficult to learn but it is more flexible.

Wordpress is on the top if you are looking for highly customized platform and SEO friendly structure. Also you would be able to find lots of plugins for free to use in wordpress but in Joomla most of them are premium.

    Thanks

I don't agree with you, also in joomla you can get a lot of free components, only only plugins, and all you can get from one website.

If you are asking for the best solution I will push you to WordPress. Because if you knew how difficult it was to get started with Joomla at all let alone create new design pages you would thank me. Joomla is tedious, hard to troubleshoot, over complicated in its programming structures. It is great for PHP Masters. Who have hours to spend on working on one page of design implementation.

You don't need to know PHP to design websites in joomla. Of course it is useful for very advanced designers and programmers but not essential.

Joomla is not for the faint of heart. I wish people would stop sending newbies in this direction, or take the calls associated with them.

Joomla is good for websites designers of all levels of experience. Of course, the beginner will create simpler websites than those more experienced.

Show me a beginner user's website created with Joomla..... Creating simplier and getting stuck at go are two different things. Your a little delisioned by the types of people at there looking to start websites. Not to be snarky, but you shouldn't be touting Joomla. Show me one successful website on Joomla, that a beginner did start to finish, and I will show you a piece a craptastic website that the user got frustrated on and ran away as fast as they could and never look back. We as professionals should be recommending services and solutions that people can actually use and adapt to. I fail to see Joomla or Drupal as one of these solutions. I'm not just saying WP because I'm a WordPress Guru, I believe in giving the keys to the business to the business owner. They or any other website owner doesn't want to be alienated by their own website from Go. :-P JMHO

As a Joomla user id sadly have to say WordPress purely because its SEO is very powerful and requires little effort, But it also depends on the type of blog you want because word press is extremely linear... there are a few free Joomla extension that can help you make a blog much better looking than a WordPress blog so I guess it depends on skill in the end.

WordPress is the best one to choose for your blogs because it is quite easy to use because of its flexibility.
