How can we increase the Alexa rank of particular site ?

It’s my experience that when I have update regular and share it with my social media community the alexa of my site improved automatically and when I don't updating nor engaged with social media to get unique traffic then suddenly alexa rank decreased (towards high).
So regular update, adopt SEO techniques to get good backlinks and continuous engaged with your active community to get a lot of unique visitors. Then I’m sure Alexa Rank of the site must be improved.

So, in a nutshell who cares about it. It's more for bragging rights because its connected to how much traffic you pull. Big whoop. Anyone can pull garbage traffic.

There are 2 ways to increase Alexa rank. Legitimate and not so legitimate.

First you have to understand how the Alexa rank is calculated. It is calculated based on the number of page loads for your site by users that have the Alexa toolbar installed. So saying something like -

"Alexa rank is directly proportional to the amount of traffic you receive"

should be correct... but it's not the whole story. Here's why -

For reasons unknown to me the Alexa fellas decided to ignore unique users (or at least they haven't weighted their algorithm correctly for uniques) so that one user with the Alexa toolbar can skew the ranking results. At least to a degree... you're not going to get to a top ten Alexa ranking by doing what I'm about to tell you but you can definitely have an impact)

So what that means in simple terms is that you can increase your Alexa rank by installing the toolbar on your own computer and then just visiting your own site every day and refresh the page 10 or so times. Every day.

It will take a little while... like a month or two but you will see a positive impact on your Alexa ranking. I know this because I did it as an experiment and took a site from Alexa 500K to Alexa 100K very quickly. Actual traffic stayed the same.

So long story short... Alexa ranking is BS but if you want to improve it just install their toolbar and refresh your site every day. Or improve your legit traffic. But how to do that would take a much longer post.
