    Advertising (learn more)

Advertise virtually anything here, with CPM banner ads, CPM email ads and CPC contextual links. You can target relevant areas of the site and show ads based on geographical location of the user if you wish.

Starts at just $1 per CPM or $0.10 per CPC.

I think webmasters should be able to choose the search engine

that will index their site instead of letting SE's do the work.

I believe if you really ( I'd call you weird for it ) wanted to pull your site off a SE you are able to contact their support and have it removed.

Though i still say it would be weird.

it seems as if everyone depends on google. Im sure if you optimized for ask.com for example, you can still get thousands of hits from them. Or lycos, hotbot, etc

well if that will happen. The first thing that will suffer is the User/searches rather. they will be getting Luck of information and running out of different details particularly visitor who always used Lycos, Ask. etc. Because not all SEO's and or Webmasters do not have an interest or time to indexed their site for each and every SE.

You can optimize your site for ask.com, and still be listed on google...

You can always ban the ones you don't want indexing you with robots.txt ;)
