I used to make a lot of money in the BST section until that 3-like rule appeared! I have been posting nice stuff for months and no likes appeared! I really want to continue my sales in the BST section, especially the eBooks forum! And why the hell is the eBooks section "deprecated"? I do not like selling my eBooks in the marketplace section as some scumbag badmouthed my eBook in the reviews and I can't even reply them! Now, I am not even receiving any more sales there!

There is only 1 place to sell ebooks and it does not require 3 likes so you have no problem.

Please do not blame the "3 likes" rule. Its a great step towards cleaning up this wonderful forum. If you had really made posts which interested the people, you would have for sure got the required likes even in a day. That is not a big deal!

Keep posting stuffs which draws other members attention or atleast brings a little smile on their face. It would surely click!

What motivation is there for people to click LIKE? It appears people do not give likes easily. I imagine the vast majority of people on the forum are lurkers that gain value from posts, but it doesnt matter until an established member gives a like. Established members are generally the ones who dole out the advice instead of scour the forums in search of good advice. Forcing too much value will illicit a LIKE black market will it not?

Not really the best summary of the problem or the solution, but at least you come off looking like a bigot, so there is that.

There were a lot of people posting useless comments just to get 25 posts before the 3 likes rule was established. Some of them were Indian, many were not. I am not really sure where reliability factors in with the like rule, maybe you can clear it up.

Except it's not hard to get likes... It seems the only ones who can't are the ones you literally don't have anything useful to contribute, which is the whole point of the system.

Also, if you are comparing people's like to post ratios, you should factor in that people give 10x more likes after the XenForo migration than they did before. So overall historically, I gotten roughly 1 like per 24 posts... but since the migration, I get one per 6.13 posts. And I'm no where remotely close to the user with the highest post:like ratio.

I 100% disagree, for me it has *always* been the Indian members who have been the most friendly and helpful to me since I've been here. It's because of them that I decided to become a regular on DP.
I won't mention any names, but I know for a fact that the most useful, helpful and popular member on DP is from India.

I like the concept behind the new system, as I think it can go along way to reducing scams and spam, but it does suck if you are honest and are having trouble meeting the new requirement.

There are quite a few posts that I have seen that were well written, informative and highly useful, but the person who wrote had 0 likes.

This statement was definitely a little "much". A pretty negative thing to say, and to generalize in that way?Not a good look.

As was stated before, not the best way to describe the problem or the solution.

I can't imagine why you're allowed to post stuff like this and get away with it. I know that I'm not the only member here who is wondering about this.
