Please review my Login/Register overlay!

    Hello everyone,

I'm really new to designing websites, although I'm working on an awesome project right now.

I decided to give designing a go, and this is what I've come up with for my Login/Register overlay. It's a minimalistic design, which currently is my favourite.

This appears over the homepage (which I haven't designed much of yet) with a semi-transparent grey layer, and allows user's to login or register.

    What do you think?

Constructive criticism is appreciated! This will be my first website design, so keep that in mind!

    Thanks.

It is actually great. Just make the tick box for "Terms and Conditions" and "Remember me" bigger. And the dark green shadow for the buttons smaller.

    great job!

Everything is looking good and perfect. I like it very much as I am also in favor of minimalistic design. The only thing is, two buttons Login and Register have been placed in two different direction, one is at right-side and another at bottom. I can guess the reason about why you do so, but you can try to bring down the login button at the bottom to see how it looks. Otherwise, I think its pretty nice.

Thanks for the feedback. The green shadow isn't a shadow as such, it's to give the button a slightly more raised feel without giving it a 3D look. I quite like it. A smaller shadow would make the button look too raised/3D I think, I might try removing it to see how it looks. I'll make the text bigger too, thanks. :)

I'll move the Login button around, I didn't want it to look tooooooo ordered, therefore having the Login button on the right hand side differentiates it from the bottom section more, I feel. I'll definitely have a play around though.

    Thanks guys, much appreciated!

I aggre with chinmoy123 regarding the login button. As for everything else, it's looking very good. The only thing I would suggest you to play with is the size of the login overlay itself, maybe make all the elements smaller? It's up to you, play with it until it look like you want.

You've done a nice work there, keep it up.

Hmm, yeah I definitely agree with you there. Made everything smaller and played around with the layout - not so long.

Can you guys let me know which one you prefer?

    Thank you! :)

Thanks! I think I'm going to move the 'X' to the right a bit more.

Your kind words keep me ploughing on, much appreciated.

The second one looks way better! I really like the fact that the design is simple and in some way or another, it has a minimalistic flavor. About that "x", indeed, moving it a bit to the right is a very good idea. Also, consider sharpening the corners of the square with the "x".

And one last thing, try moving "remember me" and "I accept terms and conditions" nearer to those little squares.

That would probably make a nice improvement, also maybe making the checkboxes a little bigger?

Yeah, the Terms & Conditions and Remember Me text shouldn't have been that low, that was a mistake.
I'll have a play with the checkbox size to see how they look.

    Thanks guys.

I love the tone of green - who needs more overused red or blue branding? Pfft! Hah ;).

Looks great with awesome design..i like horizontal design rather than vertical design. Maybe you can add social media (facebook, twitter) login feature. It's easier to user and also it's easy to control them.

Please DO NOT change the tone of green. I LOVE IT!! especially with the colors you used, not too strong, just right enough!!
    I like the 2nd edition !
    Just my opinion:)
