Contest 48-hr Contest - logo for chocolate fair - $25

I am looking for a logo for a fundraising event: Columbus Chocolate & Gift Fair. While we are open on the design we need it to focus on chocolate as the main idea of the logo.

We've kicked around a lot of ideas such as using a strawberry dipped in chocolate with the event name outlined in the chocolate, using a cupcake graphic as the centerpiece, a candy bar or truffle image, maybe a slice of chocolate cake with the name in white icing. Lots of ideas but in the end felt it was best to let you all be creative to have a cool logo to promote this fundraiser.

So to recap:

1) professional logo for the Columbus Chocolate and Gift Fair
2) final version must be 300dpi so we can use it offline to promote the event
3) $25 payment via paypal to winning design
4) feedback will be given on all entries
5) all entries must be submitted by Sunday March 10th, 2013 @ 10am EST.

Thanks. Good start. My only comment is that font for Columbus is a little hard to read and I am concerned that might be a problem. I like the cupcake image.

 

Thanks. Interesting script but not really focused on the chocolate aspect of the event. If I was doing this I might substitute one or two of the letters in Columbus with a piece of chocolate or cupcake or something. Probably the letter U's for balance. I would also suggest having the rest of the text on oe line so it would look like this:

Columbus
Chocolate & Gift Fair

Sorry that was on me. It didn't show up on my ipad but when I looked on my desktop there it was. Good start. Could you change to something like the mock-up I have below. I used MS Publisher so its not very good but it gives you an idea of what I mean. The chocolate coating on the strawberry covers more of the berry while the name of the town is in white script in the chocoloate and the rest of the text is below in either red & brown like your version (i was unable to do that on my computer) or a solid color like I did. Not sure what looks best. I do like your darker chocolate brown better than the lighter one on my computer. You'll have to fix the chocolate drips as well as I kind of botched them when I tried to edit it.

Nice concept. Simple but elegant. I like the text fonts and colors you used. My only suggestion would be to substitute some type of chocolate for the gift box to reinforce the chocolate sampling at the event. Definately like where you are going with this one. Thanks!

 

Nice visual logo. Good colors and presentation. Definately at the top of the list. My only suggestion would be to maybe substitute a chocolate doghnut for the cherry as the stem looks kind of big. But I am not sure as the cherry adds nice color to the logo. LOL!

 

Maybe something along these lines. What do you think?
