i have this domain name called techating, and i want to know any good ideas i can create with this name

 

I have always been taught that you should have your main keyword in your domain name. I am wondering what your thoughts were when you were purchasing this domain. Did you think it sounded cool or were you planning to do some type of technical site?

or it could be a blend of the words tech and hating techating, but I guess Sameer is right a site for chatting would be good too. probably somewhere people with technical prowess meet up and talk the awesomeness of being technically savvy. But I do believe my first opinion would be pretty funny too. could you imagine all of us who couldn't make a wordpress plugin, or software if our lives depended on it all hating on those that do it'd be so noobish it'd be funny.

 

Well its short, so maybe you could create a brand with it even if it's not 100% relevant to the content/what you're selling. Obviously something to do with technology though. It sounds like some kind of app to me! In the UK some people say 'ting' instead of 'thing' (its basically slang). Depends on your market though.

 

It doesn't matter at all anymore really. A lot of successful websites have domain names that are completely irrelevant to their content (made up words, etc); obviously you wouldn't call your website 'fitnessexercisereview.com' if you were running a tech blog, but you get the idea

It's definitely not for SEO. That's a brand name. Just have to figure out what you want to talk about...

 

I would say a tech talk forum The name you have there seems like you had an idea and that was the best domain that was available. To me and this is only my opinion the name seems to be on topic but confussing to remember or tell some one the site without having to spell it out. What i would do is continue in the direction that you were shooting and manipulate the logo to say what it is you want the site to be say you want it to be tech chating off set the tech and the chating making the tech in capital letters and mirror and offset chating this way you separate the name and give it the meaning it should have. this would be a start at realy giving the domain some direction and understanding along with making it memorable.

Truthfully giving people a place to talk about technology of almost any nature would be a good site. techies are always looking around the net for places to get info and ask questions. I hope you good luck on your venture.
