    Hi all,

Just my 2cents about the like rule.
    I DON'T LIKE IT!!

I used to came on this forum to buy stuff from people or give work.
last week i visit this forum to find someone to write me a text and now i must get
3 likes before i can post.

I think they had to use this rule for the new members and leave the old members
the way it used to be.

    Just my 2 cents.

    Here is my 2 cents:

You can't post your own thread but seriously, are you telling everyone that you can't find someone to write text for you? https://forums.digitalpoint.com/forums/content-creation.102/?prefix_id=1 Really? Those are just the most current users advertising that they can write text for you. You are free to reply to any or all them, or anyone else. The only thing you can't do it start a thread. BFD.

At least you're being polite about it and I'll give you credit for that. What I don't like is those who come on here madder than hell, complaining and attacking all the rules and staff.

I've been a legitimate user of Digital Point for a while now and I've only received 1 like. I find it hard to get likes, so I'm not really fond of this new system.

Yes, I share your view, but DP should have implemented some criteria to automatically bypass the 3 like rule for older members.

Then all someone would need to do then is to buy an old account with almost no posts and have at it. Do you not realize that accounts have been bought and sold here?
Also how about the member who came on here with 9 years senority, a member since 2004 and had only 39 posts. Did he deserve to be automatically established?....He felt he did being a "senior member".

Is that even worth it? Sounds pretty stupid that someone would go to that length for, when in comparison is, something quite meager.

Besides, this is what moderators and admins are for.

Would make more sense if older members were required to have more likes, not less... They have been here longer.

They did implement something. If you were a liked member in the old Vbulletin format, you get to remain a liked member in the new xenforo format. You even get to keep a record of your old itraders as a "legend" in your profile under the marketplace tab. :)

I don't like the new feature either since I like to spend my time in the Buy Sell Trade section. I've never really been active on the forums over the last 7 years. But now I'm forcing my self to so i can get my 3 likes. I don't hate it and complain about it much since I could shell out the $25 to get access to that section without the likes. However I think there could be a change. For example, only require 1 like before you can start liking other people's content and keep the 3 likes to post in particular sections.

One could theoretically only go to posts of established members in order to provide useful posts. As this would greatly increase your chances of getting a like. One could skip over a post from a new member just because they have no likes and therefore could not reward you for helping them.

In this sense it's flawed a little and should be re-worked.

Good idea. Create a rule, users must have the exact amount of likes as the number of days they have been members here!!!

Im not too fond of the likes system either.

I reckon they should have carried the iTrader stats over as 'likes' on this new system (i had a decent iTrader amount). Now I cant even sell anything in the marketplace until i go through all this newbie stuff again. I've been here years without problem then one day I jump on and all of my stats that would show im a decent trader are gone.
