SEO is not that difficult but still it is a risky deal to do as a few mistakes while doing SEO for a website can create a lot of harm to the website so be sure about what you are doing and what resultant it can roduce.
some things that should be kept in mind while doing SEO are.
1) Backlinks should be on the pages with low OBL
2)There should be a good diversity in the anchor text of your backlinks.
3)try to get both Dofollow as well as nofollow backlinks as both of them has their importance.
4)Try to have contextual links as they are of greater importance.
5)Backlinks on the pages with similar content as that of yours do provide more increase in serps.

seo was not difficult some years ago but since last 2 years a lot of people have been doing spam and using illegal way to get their website on the top of search engine that is why Google is updating his algorithem again and again for make original results .
now its really important to make natural back links if you want to get high rank .

Don't look on SEO as being difficult. There are some positive approaches as well that you can take and that my help. Everytime there's a Google update, more and more shady practices are made less workable. That's making it easier for the good guys (like me and you I trust). And another thing: don't worry about Google. Think of what their customers want and provide that. That's what Google are working on as well so you'll be in agreement and you won't have much to worry about.

 

Big gurus will tell you no no its not getting difficult but we all know and feel its getting difficult.How made this difficult I totally agree with them.No one else other than us.We are the one who spam many authenticated techniques that are no longer used as SEO strategies to rank but to get penalized.META keyword is one such example.
