To those of you who have noticed the writing gigs drying up here at DP

I just wanted to let you know I'm pretty sure I've found the reason why.

    Fiverr

Yes, friends. It seems that there are people there who are willing to go far, far lower than even the lowest paying gigs I've seen to date here on DP.

I'm not going to link to them, but I'll tell you what I saw there.

    • Someone offering to write (5) 500 word articles for $5
    • Someone offering 1,500 words for $5
    • Someone offering to proof 2,000 words for $5
    • Someone offering press releases for $5 per
    • Someone offering to create a 10 page e-book for $5
    That's not all, friends. No.
Courtesy of Fourerr, I found people willing to:
    • Write (2) 400 word articles for $4
    • Write (3) 400 word articles for $4
    • Help you write your book for $4
    • Write five tech reviews for $4
    • Write a press release for $4
Bear in mind that the 'author' of these offers does not receive the whole $5 or $4 fee per gig, no. Fees are taken off the top by the website for providing the 'service'.

You mean they are just following the advice from your signature? :)

Those are not the writing jobs you want anyway. Is it any loss that the low end jobs have left DP?

Was *I* complaining? Did I say this affects me in some adverse way? Did I address you in the subject of this post? No, no and no.

Much like the little boy that pulls girls' pigtails on the playground because he's confused about the funny feeling they give him in his pants and doesn't know how else to react - you follow my every post on this forum, dissecting every syllable I type in hopes of finding some witty retort or jab you can turn around on me. (FAIL, btw)

In the future, I would ask that you kindly remove your head from your sphincter before posting or remove yourself from my threads all together. And if you can't, I'll see if I can't petition someone to assist you via the handy "Report" button.

Just in the last 48 hours I have had two low paying offers here on DP. One member offered me 10 cents for every post I made on his site. And another offered me all of $10 to do some translating.
    (I politely declined both)

I didn't suggest you were complaining. In fact, I assumed these weren't the type of jobs you wanted. Then I posed a question asking if the loss of these jobs any loss to DP. I am not really sure why you took any of that personally? I actually thought you would be happy that these jobs are gone since after reading your post, I read your signature, which basically tells people looking for low end writing to look elsewhere. I actually thought it was interesting that you were posting, what apparently was people doing what you suggested. And further, basically agreeing with you that it is no loss to DP.

What a weird over-reaction to something that was not in the least bit negative.

    Nice try.

And if you hadn't done it SO many times before, I might be inclined to believe you.

I post all over the forum, wherever something catches my eye or interests me, and always post whatever I am thinking. I certainly am not following you or trying to insult you or anything. I know I have posted in threads you were in before but have no recollection if I agreed with you or disagreed with you. I am sorry you got the impression I had something against you personally or had it out for you. I can assure you that was never my intent.

Junk has exited the building. What a shame.

Those jobs you found will probably be the same type of useless, spun crap available on iWriter, too.

It's not just dp that has changed. It's harder and harder for a writer to make top dollar nearly everywhere online. It's the main reason I write niche specific products instead of the normal articles. If you want to make more money -- change how you market and create a brand new brand. :)

Another reason could be that now, one has to have a minimum of three likes by established members before he can post in BST section (unless he is a premium member).

If they are a content writer and can't achieve 3 likes, they must be crap at their job, so good riddance to them.

smellyfinger is referring to people posting ads looking for content writers, not those applying for jobs.

Really? I didn't see anything written pertaining to that. My comment started "If they are a content writer" (i.e. people posting to offer services), so I don't see the relevance in your reply or a reason for your assumption.

That was meant for both buyers and sellers (writers)

Most of the writers posting in the BST content section are premium members, selling bulk articles in sets with an average rate of $ 2 per article.

The quality of stuff on Fiverr for the most part is awful.

Competition for writers is steep and finding a niche for yourself, as well as regular employers, can be difficult. I think this is one reason why we see so many of these low-paying gigs. But then, on the other hand, as someone who has outsourced writing as well, you get what you pay for.

    Have a good day!

most of them are spun articles or with no valuable content, if someone needs good quality articles they don't use fiverr .
