    i have a site. (like domain.com)
    i opened a blog on subdomain (like blog.domain.com).
    how do i link between them for seo?

    from blog posts to homepage of site?
    from homepage of site to homepage of blog?
    from sidebars? footers? navigation bars?
    how many links?
    how often?
    etc. etc.

    Go with (from homepage of site to homepage of blog?) And make menu liek Blog and use wordpress theme then see how much site get more traffics from google..

    Step1. you have website, on that make blog menu.
    step2. on that blog use wordpress theme and every day make post on that blog link with hompage..

    There are 2 ways to connect your site with blog....

    1) Make a blog or post page on your website menu bar .so that you put your blog content as a post . this blog icon navigate to your blogs .
    2) When you write any blog or article then put 2 or 3 hyperlink in your content so that these hyperlinks redirects users to your site .

    these are two ways to connect website and blogs to each other .

    Use blog link in the home page menu bar. use, blog rss feeds in the side bar of the home page. the feed will automatically updated when you post new content on your blog and users can go directly to the blog page with the menu link.

    I would suggest you to go for subfolder, (domain.com/blog) rather than subdomain, (blog.domain.com)
    This is because subdomain blog , Google will take it as separate website which is not related to each others and do not bring SEO value to your primary site. Even you link to your primary site, it only take as offisite SEO backlinks and not onsite.
