these are the best extensions we use to create Joomla sites. The only criteria for this list is that they are all completely free and run on the latest version of Joomla. Joomla Content Editor (JCE). Far better than the normal content editor. Mass Content. Allows you to create large numbers of articles very quickly. Lazy Backup. Emails you a daily back up of your entire database. Joomlapack. Makes it simple to back up and also move a Joomla site. XMap. Makes creating sitemaps very, very easy. Jumi. Allows you to paste any kind of code into Joomla. Not all the must have extensions are listed. I will say it is a poor top ten extensions listed here...
It all depend on your needs. The less extension you use, the less problems you have. Tiny mce is getting better when well configured, specially on Joomla 3, so i ll quit JCE which needs to be updated to often. I like lazydbbackup but hosting companies often backup mysql dumps somewhere. I would still add jsecure to hide Joomla admin !
1. Admin tools 2. Joomla tags 3. ip filters 4. Spam fighter 5. jSecure 6. JComments 7. Facebook-Twitter-Google+1 8. KeyCAPTCHA 9. Anticopy 10. AllVideos
If you consider Joomla extension directory, it has lots of good information about this sort of question at the following pages: Here we have discussed about 3 most important joomla extensions. They are listed below: Community Builder FireBoard Forum JCE
@diziadvice Yes the xmap plugin creates sitemap automatically, all you need to do is install xmap and configure menus. Yes xmap is a free extension.
And what about the bandwith? Will it consume whole of my bandwith? I have a website hosted with joomla with 1000 pages and 1000GB bandwith. IS it okay to use this plugin for my website?
My suggestion is to use and check whether you are getting any problem. Make sure you adjust change frequency interval(a setting in Xmap) and test it. If you keep high interval there would be less problem but the sitemap will be update after some time and vice versa.
Of course, it depends of your needs ... Here is my own TOP 10 : - JCE is mandatory - JComments - JSecure - SH404SEF - XMAP - Phoca Download - Communitiy Builder - Kunena - Phoca Google Adsense Easy - Joomfish Any other idea ?
