Get A Free .com Domain - Whitehat

Hello DP members
I have written this short method to get a free .com domain.
It is 100% whitehat and legal. Let me know if I have posted this in wrong section/ or if it is not allowed on DP
So let's start

1)Make a new email account or use an existing one
2)Go to http://angelsgate.com
3)Start a project (don't abuse their system, post a genuine project)
4)Write title, descriptions etc and you also have to attach a video( they dont really check videos)
5)After you have made the project, you will get a link to your project
6)Share your page on facebook, twitter etc. You just need 10 facebook likes to get free domain.
7)After that you will get an email on how to redeem free domain.

Enjoy your free .com domain for one year. Registrar is Hostgator.

Methods sounds nice, but there is this one issue of getting 10 FB likes ... I also found this method useful https://forums.digitalpoint.com/threads/com-info-domains-at-only-0-99-for-the-first-year.2631770/ and of course, there are other methods out there which don't require FB likes. Anyways, it great to know of other options. Thanks for the share.

 

Nice method and you can easily get 10 likes on any facebook page so worth trying to save your $10

I see lots of such offers on several forums just make sure you get complete access to the domain you get for free as its useless to develop or work on any domain unless you have complete control over it. You and only you should have control over the domain. In all cases avoid .tk or any kind of free domain unless you are offered complete control and domain should be registered at any good well known company.

 

I agree with Krafters , these free domain gets useless after a year . imagine doing all your hard work for a year and then all your efforts go waste as you couldnt renew it !!
my advice if u have genuine project go and buy your own .com , if u have lesser money then go for .info.

 

Exactly, if you are getting free domain then ask provider to get it registered for you at any well known domain provider like name.com or godaddy or similar! Never let them have access to your domain they can take it back anytime and you might end up wasting a lot time in developing and working on it. It might get harder to get your domain back and sometimes even not possible.

 

Do they share the login details of Hostgator with you or will they ask you to provide the name servers ?

 

You can renew it after 1 year...just put real details while registering domain

Indeed! It might even be a scam.. If you start a business using such domain name, they'll make you pay for it big time. And come on, it's only 10 bucks for reg a new domain.. just don't take the risk!

 

I would take the contrary position that if you are doing a short term (months, a year) project and your site is just going to be a one page splash or opt-in type deal, a .tk or other one year free .com can make sense. Some marketers do not rely on online campaigns or permanent urls as a means of promoting, so this would work for them. At the end of the freebie period you can simply let that domain die, and/or redirect to your page from another free .com domain.
