Well, I was woundering how do moderators realise that someone is cheating, and, what do they count as a cheat. The same goes for lying. The reason why I'm opening this thread is that I published a thread in Buy/sell section, and got 34 PM's (since yesterday) from which I only found about 4 of them good. Others offered dropped domains (for which I didn't ask) for which they claimed that they are not - lying, while some just spammed with non related offers. Now, I know it could be sensitive on privacy thing, but what I would suggest is that receiver can report PM, and that mods can only read reported PM's, not every because of the privacy.
I understand what you're saying. But in business just about everyone will exagerate at some point. It's the nature of business, and is human nature intrinsically honest? It is a big can of worms you are opening here. I believe that individual members need to determine who is lying and who is not and deal with it accordingly. Reporting every single PM that is not "honest" is not practical in my opinion.
well,.. right know I guest there is no more negative or positive reputation,.. just like then.. (correct me Mod )
I know there would be more job to do for the mods at the beggining, but only that way we would get rid of those spammers, not via Like system.
A good way is to not buy or sell links. It's a complete waste of money and of course cheaters are going to try to sell you links. What do you expect when you are trying to buy something to cheat search engines? That being said, use an escrow service I guess.
Yes, Hiring SEO Services would be a great options for better and genuine Promotions. Even If you are interested in Link Buying You will have to go through this every time. However, You can mark those users as a spammers who have sent you unnecessary or unrelated blogs lists and you will be more careful next time.
And to do that, you can just put the person on your ignore list. I have people on my ignore list and don't even recall why, but it lets me know they must have did something I did not agree with and no longer wish to associate with them or see their posts.
Forgot that when users are on ignore list you won't receive their PM. But you'll never be able to ignore them all, because everyday there are couple of newbies searching for a user to spam his inbox .
I'd just keep adding them to ignore, that way I don't accidentally respond to one at some later date when I forget all about them, but in my case, I have memory issues and have to do these sorts of things, lol!
Yes, This is an excellent idea to keep spammers away, even with new Updates on DP many spammers got banned already. With a little effort you can get best service providers for future business.
It will have a giant message about it in the first post of a thread you start (as long as it's in an area that can get best answers).
Wait digitalpoint, I just saw Report button in PM, why didn't you told me that it exist? I guess because the report for cheating and spam won't be considered? But if that's true, why Report button there at all?
I use it to report unsolicited pm spam. I think the main issue with the stuff you are complaining of it that it would require someone to spend the time to investigate. Really that is not DP's job to do your due diligence. Can you image if they were forwarded every PM offer to verify the facts and what the parties are claiming? Basically, you were able to identify the crap offers and I think most people can do the same.
