I may not say anything new to some, but I believe these three points are essential to taking your business from zero to success. So, what are they?

1. Having a clear strategy

A few times in the past I'd start something just to test the waters. There was no plan, no clear goal - just pure enthusiasm. All those ventures eventually ceased to exist. So, stating a clear goal from the start and writing down a plan is vital to your business development.

2. Staying true to your vision

Generally, as people, we get easily discouraged. It's understandable. But when you start out on a new venture, keep in mind that success doesn't happen overnight. Or over a month, or even over a year. As a matter of fact, I personally believe that any business will begin to see tangible growth only after about 12 to 16 months. But the important thing is will you be able to stay true to your vision while waiting?

3. Knowing your audience

You've heard the saying: "If you aim at nothing, you will hit it every time". Do not waste your time trying to reach people that are not interested in what you have to offer. Reach those who are readily available. Be an expert in your field. Know what your audience wants and cater to their wishes.

You know, as I was putting those points together, I thought about adding luck as one of them. Even wise Solomon once said, in essence, that "place and chance determine success". So, yes, chance can play a role in all of this as well.

After all said and done, how about first page rankings? Free Traffic? Organic Traffic?
