When people first come to internet marketing the first thing they come across is the necessity of the three key things to get started... Domain Name Hosting Account Auto-responder But when people first start they often get the first one "the domain name" oh so wrong. Getting the wrong domain name can create a lot of wasted work down the line when you need to change over to a new one and you've spent a lot of time and effort building up the site only to finally realize that Money-Make-I-Love-Internet-Superman.com is causing you more harm than good. For people just starting out on a budget this is a hard earned $10 dollars wasted. However, when it comes to buying that first domain name there is one $10 that will never be wasted and that is buying YourName.com For many newbie internet marketers this one simple domain will last you your entire career. And it is the one you can build your business on right from the start. So if you are on a budget and you don't have YourName.com as a domain then get it now because you'll only regret it later when you can't.... However, if it's already gone don't panic - you could back order it, aproach the owner, or until then get a near as damn it domain like Your-OwnName.com or YourOwnNameOnline.com This domain will be incredibly versatile in your first few months of internet marketing and save you $$$ in blind alleys.
Yes, you have mentioned some important aspect here. But after the recent updates of Panda and Penguin domain name is nothing important. So, choosing a name does not carry any importance I think.
Maybe you are wright because in the last time domain isn't so important because of Panda updates but don't you think is better to spend few bucks more, but you have a respectible domain name? Also if you are planning to sell that website most buyers want good domain name. I think it's better on some way
Domain name isnt that important anymore in the eyes of google since the last update. But your very very right about buying yourname.com its the best domain name I ever bought!
Choosing the correct Domain Name is still greatly important. Not in the eyes of Google but in the eyes of the people who use Google - the REAL PEOPLE who are tempted or not tempted to click on your link. A professional looking domain name is far more likely to be clicked on and trusted than anything else. Your own name domain proves that you are yourself a REAL PERSON and again this breeds trust in the eyes of the consumer. To many Internet Marketers forget that we are marketing to real people - that we are in the business of marketing. That we are in fact - in business. YourOwnName.Com is not a "Technical Issue" just for the eyes of an algorithm - it is a "Psychological" issue that affects the perception of your brand and the feelings of the customer. That being said although EMD - Exact Match Domains with low quality sites are being rooted out by google this doesn't mean that domain names are not influential in any way. This is a falsehood. A dotcom will still outrank a dotinfo and so on.... If people are tempted to click on your site and the bounce rate is low Google likes this and therefore you rise in the rankings. Post Panda/Penguin Google is much more focused on User Satisfaction and Quality Content - YOUR Domain name is still a factor that affects this. For Newbies to Internet Marketing - and that is who this post is for - if you want to be successful you must provide quality and you must look professional. Get your customers to know, like and trust you, develop a relationship and you will succeed.
Domain names still carry importance. More so on lower competition terms and/or local marketing. No longer can you buy a domain name and expect it to rank against high competition, just because your keyword is in the domain. But it's definitely still a factor.
Thanks. Like we said earlier buying your-own-name domain is about professional marketing NOT google rankings.
nice, i agree with first post, we need some preparation and go with the right direction to reach a goal, good site project will desire to seriously to do
