I can't decide between Namecheap and GoDaddy, what is the general opinion?

For a few domains, I don't think it matters. People who have a lot of domains seem to prefer namecheap.

I use Godaddy and have never had a problem with them. Plus, I think they are the cheapest.

My vote goes for NameCheap. I have used both but I find Namecheap easier to use and less pushy on the upsell.

Try Netfirms. I have been using them for some time and they are pretty good. They are also quite established. Try using the coupon code 'promo495' to get domains at $4.95

    Hi,

You should try some other options also. I would suggest you Net4 for domain registration where you will find some attractive deals & discounts.

I like godaddy a lot especially bec every now and then they offer discount coupons even coupons for renewal.

Namecheap is a smart choice if you need Privacy option as it is free on ur first year.

I vote for Godaddy, they are cheap and easy domain name auction was about to expire, with cheaper elsewhere

^^^The Whois privacy included with Namecheap domains in the first year is a killer bonus which draws everyone to it. Plus they have decent service and good rates. GoDaddy on the other hand has frequent offers that come up but some people don't like the interface and the aggressive selling that GoDaddy does.

I will suggest you Namesilo instead. No upsells at all and best pricing with free whois and protection.

Thanks everyone for your helpful responses, after checking out a few other options suggested I went with Namecheap, not the cheapest but I liked the free whois, and I used this coupon code: FULLSWINGAHEAD to get a few cents off the .com, .co.uk, .org, .net and .info so in total came to around $40.

I used to purchase through godaddy because of their coupon codes but now I purchase through internet.bs because they are cheap and privacy is included in the domain purchase price, whereas with godaddy it's extra, it's cheaper buying domain with privacy through internet.bs than buy godaddy + pay godaddy privacy costs, even with godaddy coupon codes internet.bs is cheaper and I've never had any trouble with them. (no affiliation lol I sound like I am marketing for them haha)
