Best Place To Purchase Domain For Canada, Uk, De, Es, It And Fr Extension?

Discussion in 'Domain Names' started by point2, Feb 3, 2013.

I am not from EU or Canada.. I am interested to buy domain extension that would be better for the designated google se.. Need advise to get better sites for those countries..

Canada - thinking of getting .ca but you have to be from canada (if not mistaken)

UK - .co.uk - not sure the laws and rules for this..

DE, IT, ES, and FR extension - i read somewhere that you have to be from EU or you have to have representative from there.. Also willing to get .com.es or other extension as long as it shows that it points to that specific country..

Anyways, was thinking of getting it from namecheap.com, any alternative?

ALSO - it doesnt have to be a specific domain extenstion.. I am willing to buy .com or .info - just give me advise how to make them rank better in other countries search engine.

The requirements for registering a .ca domain are quite strict. You must be a Canadian resident or have a company that does business in Canada. If you don't meet the requirements, this is one ccTLD that won't be an option.

If there are restrictions on certain extension, they will be applicable no matter what registrar you choose.

Even if I can not register my country specific domain,
    1. I will emphasize on giving content useful for the local visitors as my primary concern.
    2. Then I will think about hosting my website on a local server.
    3. Then I will list my business in local directories, yellow pages and databases.
    4. I will then try to get in local press releases.
    5. And of course my contact us page and registrant information (whois) should display local business address.
Google has ability to analyze all of these points to know that you are local business.

.ca Restricted by CIRA for Canadian resident / business
.fr restricted for residents / business in the European Union
.eu restricted to EU residents / business
    .co.uk / .de / .es no restrictions.
I believe there is a way how to get restricted domains. Some registrars offer a trustee, like 101domain.com / uniteddomains.com. For the UK domains I would go with 123-reg.co.uk.

Because you are still not eligible for liking other people's posts.
First become an established member then you can like other member's posts.

Established members are members that have a few extra perks because they contributed something useful to this site. It's actually not hard to become an established member, but it does require some minimal effort... Specifically, you become an established member 48 hours after you register AND 3 different existing established members "Like" something you wrote (asking users publicly or privately for "Likes" will get you banned).
