What Is The Best Software To Edit Html?

Discussion in 'HTML & Website Design' started by OaldDesign, Feb 1, 2013.

    Hey dear dp members,
I am using today to edit html, php, css with "Komodo Edit 5.2"
and i was wondering if i should replace that for something else?
Should i try Adobe Dreamweaver or other software instead? i am trying to get things faster those days, and maybe i could do that with better software.

The best is Notepad++ if you know what you are doing, if you need a little help from the software (code suggestion) then go for Dreamweaver, it is really good and I learned to work with it even without reading a manual...

I agree. I started out using dreamweaver while I was learning and now use notepad or just make the changes in my file manager.

I use Sublime Text 2. It's fast, allows multiple panes, has a powerful search and replace feature, multi-editing, plugins, custom plugins and more.

Dreamweaver is the best and not so hard to learn. If you stack somewhere try to do the search on youtube - there are a lots of tutorials for it!

I second the suggestion for Sublime Text 2. It's sleek and is lightweight, giving all of what you need as well as Syntax Highlighting.

notpad++ if you know what your doing, however im still quite the noob so i use microsoft webmatrix, i like it and how it allows you to install and run wordpress with just a couple clicks, it also allows you to run php by just installing something, it takes away all the hassle for me so i might just stick to it.

Edit with either Sublime Text 2 or Notepad++. It's a matter of personal opinion which one you prefer.

Geddout of here. Dreamweaver is only a useful tool if you stay away from most of the automatic features, don't touch the inbuilt Javascript, don't touch the CSS panels and only use the code view to edit.

People keep saying Dreamweaver or Notepad++. Here's why I think dreamweaver is the best hands down. The FTP is awesome for Dreamweaver and it even gets you the option to "autoupload" when you save file. Dreamweaver has the amazing power of suggestion when you are coding in something like JavaScript, PHP or even a library like jQuery. It also spots errors in your code. I know there are plenty of more arguments for Dreamweaver, but to me those are the top 3.
