just like apple, after Steve Jobs died, apple products were not as amazing as before when sj still alive. Now, apple just produced gadget where customers expect. Previously, apple released product which drive people to have new standard beyond their imagination, for example the first generation of iPhone, iPod, iPad. The products really make people to have higher level of experience in gadget features.
Imagine what Microsoft will be when Bill Gates die ? similar to apple or not ?
imho, more or less similar to what happen to Apple. why ? BG is key factor how microsoft released products to influence users entire this world.

Microsoft don't have such revolutionary products like Apple has.Microsoft provides just an OS with so many bugs and viruses. What Apple do is so much different.

Probably nothing will happen, the current president will probably move forward with Bill Gates legacy.

Man srsly?! Ok, you are apsolutely right about bugs but check this:
    http://www.microsoft.com/Surface/

And viruses are made from peoples, not from Microsoft.
If Mac was popular there will be viruses too, but it isn't because that OS is based for Mac PC's which are too expensive.

They were thinking that MAC Os have better security than Windows, and read this article when some smart guy made virus for mace: http://www.webpronews.com/flashback-botnet-infects-over-half-a-million-macs-2012-04

Nothing will happen. You can't compare Apple situation with Microsoft. Bill Gates already isn't involved for several years with Microsoft product development and he almost has no influence on them at all.

Microsoft will be better - and all of those who think Bill gates has no influence on the decisions and product development, need to research a bit more.

A few people mention his son taking over, but I do not think that was the case.

There was a talk with Bill Gates and Warren Buffet, and the topic of inheritance came up. The general idea was that those two felt an obligation to give back to the world, and that their children should found their own lives, too. One line ran in the same vein as: "I should not be lucky to have chosen the right womb and not have to work a day in my life".

So I think Bill Gates will definitely make sure his children are taken care of, I think he is smart enough to make them work hard and learn on their own in these regards. I do not imagine a legacy of the family name, unless they work hard at it as their parents did.

As for what will become of the company, it has already been stated that Gates has been hands off for a while. I worry more about what would happen to the charities and scientific research he's helped fund; but I believe his wife will help continue that on, too.

Nothing really. He is out of company business for a while now, even though he is still Microsoft's biggest ideologist. However, he is a significant person in history of the industry and I hope it will not happen any time soon!
