The latest while I've been looking into a lot of ad networks. To keep track of the ad networks I've been using I'll be constantly updating this thread with my opinions about each network. Link: http://www.valueclickmedia.com/ Rating: 8/10 Acceptance Difficulty: Hard Very serious ad network with plenty of different advert types. If you have good content then you can get some really good rates here. They also have combined banners if you would like to get a bit better rates. For example you can combine the 468 and the 728 banners, if the 468 banner has a higher CPC price it'll show that. Advantages: • Serious & stable network • Good support • Nice rates • Combined banners Disadvantages: • Rates vary a lot through time (at least for me) • Pretty hard to get in Link: http://www.sonobi.com/ Rating: 6/10 Acceptance Difficulty: Easy/Hard Spoiler They have to parts, one is called self-service and the other is the premium network. The self-service is easy to get into while the premium network requires that you get at least 3 000 000 impressions per month. Fast support and a stable network. I got around 100 000 impressions which earned me a revenue of 15.00 USD. They also have a premium network but you have to have over 3 000 000 impressions per month to join that network, I'll report more about that on Monday. Update: I got into the premium network but it didn't seem to be much of a difference. I never gave them a real shot as their adverts took around 20 seconds to load (confirmed by Pingdom), even if they did pay good I wouldn't risk losing traffic since the adverts load so slow. Advantages: • Many advertisers connected to Sonobi which results in a high fillrate. • Nice support • Many payment options Disadvantages: • Pretty slow load times • Statistics get updated every 24 hours Link: http://www.adnetwork.net Rating: 1/10 - Extremely low rates Acceptance Difficulty: Easy - No approval required The staff members here were friendly and I got to talk to them through Skype. Their offices are located in Argentina. The ads at this network weren't very targeted and my revenue was very low, this is also the reason I left the network the same day I joined. I got a total of 33 000 impressions and 329 clicks in one day. The numbers above gave me a profit of 3.92 USD... As you can see the revenue was extremely low, I even had 3 adverts on the site (two 160*600 and one 720*90). The best thing about this network was that you instantly got to put the adverts on the site, approval by a staff member was not required. But then again why would you want to join a network that pays that little? Advantages: • Instant account activation Disadvantages: • Low earnings • Strange adverts Link: http://www.clicksor.com/ Rating: 3/10 Acceptance Difficulty: Easy - No approval required This was probably the worst network I've ever joined. This network does not require any approval just like AdNetwork.Net (you can read more about them above) but the earning here were just terrible. You first get a strange username looking something like this: "100-P-XX" You could then choose different types of adverts. They have full-page ads, banners and over-text ads. Since I don't want to bomb my visitors I only chose the banner to get an estimate on how they performed. I placed one 160*600 skyscraper on the right side of my site. The next morning I logged in to check my earnings, here is what I got: Clicks: 5 Revenue: $1.02 Un-paid The impressions were low so I'm guessing the fill rate of the adverts was also low. This network pays decently if you decide to put pop-unders and full-page ads on it but if you decide to just go for banners I recommend you to stay away. Advantages: • A lot of different banners and advert types • Easy to get in • Accepts adult content Disadvantages: • Not the highest quality of adverts
It depends a lot on the quality of your content. The quality is decent (interactive games). ValueClick Media has serious advertisers and they also have the highest quality adverts.
Wish you the best of luck getting into the network. Tell me if there is anything I could help you with.
If you have a sports blog, Yardbarker is a good place to start. It accepts most sports blogs with quality posts even if they have low traffic, and they pay better than other networks for low traffic websites. It's supposedly guaranteed over $1 CPM.
