What would your marketing strategy be in world where there was no Google?

We'd all be dead. It's a fact! Google is supreme ruler of everything. They obviously control everything, when political figures. Because the better they rank on google, the more views they get. The more views they get the more likes they get. The more likes they get the more money they make so they can tax others and make more money so they can buy stock in google.

Yes, maybe so, but all supreme rulers eventually fall.

There was once a Roman Empire, today, not so much, right?;)

I'd go with Bing, there is always a leader in the game, no Google, other thing will fill the space..

I think you're forgetting that it's Google. If google had a fight with Rome, Google would win because it would have tracked all of romes activity for the past 6 months to know exactly what they are doing. Then they would send an army of self driving cars.

Google was a game changer for how content was ranked, so if they didn't exist, it might still be meta search engines. ;-) Joking, I am sure it would have changed, but at a slower rate. I don't think the webmaster/SEO scene would be what it is, although that has changed a lot now compared to what it was three years ago. It's completely different to 10-15 years ago.

I think without Google, marketing strategies would be what they were a few years ago and spam would still be more effective (unfortunately).

Who would have been king of search? Yahoo. Apple and Nokia would rule smartphones, and probably Nokia would have been carrying on with Symbian (Teletubbies Edition).

Google is the ultimate place for everyone. It provides the perfect platform for the businesses to reach out to the people and for the customers for getting the best alternatives. It is beneficial for people from all age groups. I don't think there can be any other alternative to Google.

Even if there is others Search engine's out there, I will tell you what do to whitout Google.

As you can see, most internet marketers that run a product creation buisiness, cpa or anything do not rely on google.
    Why ?
Because with all these panda, penguin, cats and dogs, you can not predict what Google will do. You have to rely on others traffic strategies live paid ads, JV's, forums etc.

This is from a buisiness owner point of view. But as a normal person, I think people will waste really big time searching for the right website, so yes Search engine (not only google) are really important in todays life

Google is the king. Nothing is possible without it. No business can be run and there will be loss of many companies if Google will lost somewhere.

If it didn't exist I would end up aimlessly entering random names in to my browser to find a website.. :)

Yahoo is there and it is older than Google, there would be other competitors of Yahoo as well.
