    Maximum people say that things. You should understand they have different algorithm for page ranking. So their page rank must be different. But try to do seo on different sector. For Yahoo you can use yahoo answer most.

    While doing backlinks, you must take care from what sites you are getting backlinks, if those sites are ranking good in google, then, backlinks from such sites will push your google ranking. And, if those sites have been ranking good in Yahoo, then these backlinks will push your Yahoo ranking. Thats the main difference.

    SEO is not different for each search engine. Its a common process for all the search engines however slight differences are present in various search engine algorithms. As chinasa told Google does not pay much attention to meta tags descriptions and keywords however yahoo takes both into consideration.

    SEO is different sir, because if you perform SEO for Google you will only get better results on Google Search, not Yahoo. Please refrain from posting wrong information.

    There is no such thing as Google seo or Yahoo seo. SEO is SEO, regardless of the search engine.
    Perhaps you mean that your site ranks differently in Google than it does in Yahoo. That is because they have different ranking systems and different search algorithms. And it is also because Google gives more importance to the quality and quantity of backlinks, while Yahoo relies more on a well done on-page optimization.
    You should be happy and enjoy the fact that you rank high in Google. In my opinion it is slightly more important than the Yahoo ranking. But I guess you should probably work on the on-page optimization (design, keywords etc.) to improve your yahoo ranking as well.

    1 – The first site ranks No.1 on Google for “search engine optimisation”
    2 – The second site ranks No.1 on Yahoo for the same term.

    I have highlighted all the areas that the Google ranker seems to out do the yahoo ranker. Let’s discuss this a little.

    The On Page Factors
    The first thing that is obvious is the site that ranks higher in Google is much better optimised on page. Every aspect has been taken care of from title tags to meta keywords and all headings are utilised.
    The Yahoo ranking site misses the opportunity to optimise the H1 tag and has no meta keywords.
    I know meta keywords are not supposed to be a ranking factor but every site that ranks high uses meta keywords, surely there is something in this?

    Off Page Factors
    Again the site ranking higher on Google has a far superior link popularity with a higher anchor percentage and relevance percentage. Also on top of this the average link to this site passes 3 times the PageRank in comparison to the Yahoo ranking site.
    Looking at this from a “google seo” point of view it is not hard to see why this site is ranking higher on Google.
